PostSubject: New racing games   Fri Oct 10, 2008 6:54 am

After having a look through a games realise schedule I've noticed there is quite a few racing games coming out in the next few months or have been realised recently.

First off we have
1. Baja: edge of control. - All about racing through tough terrain in off road vehicles.
2. Pure - Quad action
3. Moto GP 08 - Explains itself (not out yet)
4. Race Pro - GTR on the xbox cheers (not out yet)
5. Trackmania DS - Build crazy courses
6. Midnight club LA - For those who are into boy racers games
7. Need for speed: undercover - See above
8. World championship off road racing

Then of course future realiises of GT5, f1 09 (Whatever Codemasters are going to call it) and the other off road game they where working on.
Probably been a couple i've missed aswell.

That's exactly the sort of thing I've been looking for, cheers Steven. Cool

Number 6, 7 and 8 apply to me. I've been looking on Game's website, and their's a game called 'supercar challenge' for PS3, but details are scarce. The only useful piece of information is that it'll be released in November.

Midnight sounds very impressive, their was an article in the Sunday Times last week, and sounds as if the game will be more realistic than it's predecessors NFS looks decent, but I'm hoping that it won't be like Prostreet or Carbon. Supercars on deserted, country roads would be good. Cool

As for GT5, I can take it or leave it. I mean 2009 is far too long to wait, even though I know I'll probably like it a lot - like every GT game. Regarding F1 09, bring it on! I hope they can release the game a bit earlier than studio liverpool usually did, late July. A spring release would be ideal, just as the F1 season gets underway - so the buzz of a new season is there - may increase sales.

If GT5 comes out at a similar time to F1 09, GT5 will probably win...

I have Played on Pure great fun!

I will be getting Need for speed: undercover, I always like them games, Carbon is still my Favourite story line, Pro street just failed

Codemaster had better get it right for F1 or they will feel the heat, Grid was good game but lacked something.

I hope GT5 is good game with nice selection of cars and good tracks and races

Grid did indeed lack a certain something. From Codies said in that interview a while ago, the F1 game will cater for different tyes of players, novices, casual, experienced etc. Hopefully the real is good.

I will be getting pure, As I downloaded the demo and thought it was great fun. My mate has just bought himself a quad aswell so wil lbe teaching him a few stuff lol!

I am a bit worried about Moto GP as there hasn't really been a good one since Moto GP 4 on the ps2.
I hope it's like superbikes 08. Then for me it's just waiting till race pro comes out. Getting ready to thrash you guys who are on my friends list lol.

Sony probably won't allow good racing games for the ps3 unless it's worse then Gran Turismo. There wouldn't like someone making better games then them. (Even though most people do to start with)

I know a lot of people like Gran Turismo but I hate it. It's not really a simulation game, you carn't get damaged, There give you 55 versions of a Honda Nsx which you don't need and tons more stupid little japanese cars we don't like.

*This should really go in the rant thread lol!

Race pro I hope can live up to Gtr2 on the pc. Just need decent people to race online with. As most people can go out and buy it you are bound to get a lot of idiots spoiling the racing. Where as on Pc it was a selected market.

I really do hope GT5 is a good game, We do not need 55 versions of a Honda Nsx and 900 versions of the Skyline Laughing Rolling Eyes The Problem with GT5 is its just racing not like Grid were cars to spin out and you can spin and crash but i think it will be good with cars they have on!

True about the pointless variations Japanese of cars, maybe they should cater the game for their main markets?

So the Japanese version: have a million Nissan Skylines if you wish

European version: More European cars, but still have all of the main models

American version: More variations of American cars, and other nationalities.

GT4 was better, with more BMW's, Mercedes-Benz etc. But compared to others on X BOX, GT does have some catching up to do.

As for a simulator, I don't really think any of them are. None really feel like driving a real car (from my limited experience anyway). But are fun all the same.

I'm looking forward to the Prototype-C mod, I can't wait to get back into a Group C car, maybe do some 6 hour/1000km races with 30 or 40 cars on track, with driver swaps etc.

I'm getting it on Friday, I don't know about anybody else, but NFS Undercover looks a bit boring in comparsion: http://uk.gamespot.com/ps3/driving/needforspeedundercover/index.html

I don't see much different from the other NFS games, despite it intially looking like a reatively new game.

I am not sure about Midnight club the games. look basicly the same. NFS has has good storylines and this one has a brilliant one i think and some interesting missions!

I would like to see a new grid game or a same kind Just With ALMS or LMS with Pit stops etc!!
