The Austrian Grand Prix could return to the Formula 1 calendar for the first time in more than a decade.
Red Bull announced an agreement had been reached with F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone to stage the race, last held in 2003, next season.

"[Owner] Dietrich Mateschitz and Bernie Ecclestone reached an agreement that F1 will return to [the province of] Styria next year," read a statement.

I always liked the Red Bull Ring (cough cough, the A1 Ring - doesn't A1 Ring just sound better?).

Whereas most circuits are very long, the layout is relatively short with plenty of overtaking opportunities. Although Shanghai, Istanbul and other new tracks have actually produced some great races, I like short road courses.

It means the driver behind doesn't have to wait ages to try and overtake again. The Austrian Ring doesn't have too many corners that flow into each other and are basically none-overtaking zones.

The red bull ring is a pale imitation to the old curcuit. But it's nice to have a European race added to the calendar.
