Excellent, that makes me very happy. I think you start on 44 points but I'll check.

It was brilliant that Motors TV showed Lime Rock live. They should show more ALMS races live.

I must say, ALMS have gone a bit downhill compared to what it was. P1 isnít really a category with only two cars, and P2 has a fair number of participants but not enough. I understand why GTC and PC were introduced; otherwise, there would be barley any cars. However, some of the GTC drivers are a tad clumsy and make the series look unprofessional.

GT is as good as ever, but ALMS was certainly best when those Penske Porscheís were carrying the Audi R10ís, GT was filled with even more cars, and there was plentiful participants to not need GTC or PC.

The merger between ALMS and Grand-Am canít come sooner enough.

I'd say all of those gtc drivers will move across to the new series as will the pc. Did motors work alright for you. It was playing up here but so watch bbc and a couple of other...?

The big questions are about the new series.

The current Chevy dp's will not be called corvettes next year, maybe Cadillac or the funding might go from them. For corvette the gtlm car is the important one.

There's a rumour of a mustang gtlm car.

With corvette, srt and possible ford factory cars gtlm has to run to Le Mans rules. It's my opion that a works gtlm will beat a current dp over 6, 10, 12 and 24 hours.

Alms was pretty much a world championship when the recession hit hard 2009 it had few entries, 2010 when it was p1 and p2 made it more interesting and more entires but it never really recovered when ilmc and wec came about!

I the merger needs to simple and question still need to be answer

It might take a year or so to sort out!

ALMS is still a great series, let there be no doubt. GT is still impressively strong and the manufacture interest is still strong. However, it does seem that classes have been invented to disguise the decline in prototypes. P2 was greatly promoted and pushed in America, but it hasnít really worked out like it has in Europe.

In America, the real test of P2 was privateer interest and entrants. Whilst the Penske Porscheís were simply superb, the real test of P2 was privateer interest Ė not fully-fledged manufacture efforts.

Iíve long thought that DPís have great potential to be faster. Ford are introducing a Turbo V6 for their DP customers next year, so tuning more power out of that shouldnít be a problem. The naturally aspirated, big Corvette and BMW engines also have a lot of tuning potential.

I say they should have 600 bhp, with a little more downforce (downforce isnít always a bad thing) but the retention of steel brakes.

It would be interesting to see Cadillac take over the branding of GMís DP car. It is true that GT is Corvetteís priority, especially with the all-new C7 making its debut next year.

Ford will introduce a new Mustang in 2015, so I would doubt that Ford would build, commission or support the development of a product that is nearing the end of its life. I could imagine a GTE version of the new Mustang, however.

It would certainly be the new mustang, as you say it would be silly racing the old one when the new is so close.

The cadallic this is an assumption not a proper rumour even. They might not have the funding to do both dp and gt even under two brands.

Carbon brakes might be bad for racing they should save the teams money as teams would need two sets a year rather than one set a race, it might be two races, I can't remember.

Tyres would be the best way to make the dp's faster, preferable and open formula like p2 has been.

I think the reason there's very few p2's in the states are there's no us p2 manufacter and dp mk1's and be rebodied and updated to mk3's cheaper than buying a new p2.

I like the steel brakes on DP's because the braking zones are longer, hence why the DP's put on a great show. I much prefer to see a field of DP's race than LMP2 cars. LMP2 cars might be faster, but DP's are more exciting to watch.

I wouldn't mind if DP's had more mechanical tyre grip. I think the DP has a lot of potential to be faster. As it is, a Daytona Prototype is going almost 190 mph at Daytona. I particularly like the Corvette DP, visually.

Motors TV worked fine for me, yep.

Saying that, earlier in the day my digital box was playing up.

I so wish that Motors TV would invest in better picture and sound quality. I really appreciate what Motors TV do, but the quality is embarrassing.

I think motors run the whole channel in about 20 quid a year.

I do agree about the steel brakes but...

I think p2 has great potential for good racing but it hasn't quite shown it yet in elms.

I think they don't need both, with 2 series then a corvette in each is good but why not save a load of money instead.

I suspect that ford if the mustang gtlm happens and maybe bmw will cut there dp program's. also Mazda will cut something as well.
