Not sure how competitive a SEAT Leon will be, but it's good to see him giving it a go

Oh dear, doesn't Huff need to move on from WTCC? As we've established, WTCC is deeply snoozy with terrible engines and snoozy racing.

Huff is better off in the BTCC - far more entertaining.

Touring cars need better engines, long races and less aero. Will someone please hurry the f*** up and get it done.

sadly not going to happen, touring car races of 500k like the 80's Group A rules (XJS, Rover 3500SDI, BMW 635csi etc) is long gone, apart from in Australia, and GT racing, which wasnt really an option back in the 80's and 90's has created an outlet for the wealthy.
The Spa 24 Hours was for ages a touring car race, but moved to GT rules to survuve. Touring cars now seems to be about short races neatly packaged between the all important money earning advertisments for tv channels, and short attention spans of the public.

500k would be nice but that's not what I meant. Wtcc at Macau is 9 laps iirc it should 18 or 20. I used Macau because I can't remember race distances from anywhere else. 20 minute races are too short. Something between 30 and 45 would be far better.

Short races are not so bad. BTCC is the most entertaining motorsport on the planet; there is pay back, regular safety cars, bumping and rubbing, Plato v Neal etc – it’s a tremendous show.

A touring car series which peanlises bumping and rubbing isn't a touring car series. This isn't open wheel or sports car racing.

The pay back and rivalries between drivers is what makes the BTCC; it adds the crucial human element - the fans get riled up and know which driver is which. Let's be honest, WTCC doesn't have a single feud or rivalry.

I don’t see any show with WTCC. Even when BTCC ran the same S2000 cars as WTCC, BTCC was always more interesting.

However, WTCC has a cumulative issue - four cylinder engines, and boring races and unacceptable cars for a “world” championship.
