Ganassi don't really moan much. Across the series they compete in; Grand Am, IndyCar and NASCAR, they stay relatively quiet. Particularly in IndyCar and Grand Am, its other teams who have wild conspiracies about Ganassi and their drivers.

When Ganassi were badly down on power last year and in 2009 at Daytona, Chip didn't spit his dummy out on TV.

Starworks' Peter Baron is another hypocritical owner, and he has wild conspiracies. He was so quick to bitch about Montoya at Indianapolis (perhaps Daziel should look where he's going?), yet his car hit Ganassi's car at Lime Rock. Did Chip throw a tantrum on TV? Nope.

Ganassi didn't have a massive speed advantage. Both the 01 and 02 had to work hard to get past other cars. The 01 was simply a very slick, error-free operation.

Grand-Am is back this weekend at the Circuit of Americas. Motors TV will be showing delayed coverage on Sunday, but I'm sure there will be a live stream of the race tomorrow.

The F1 race was tremendous around here, Grand-Am should be a belter. I can't wait to see the traffic through the esses... What a Face

After the NASCAR Nationwide Series race is finished, I think this feed will switch over to SPEED for Grand-Am: http://www.justin.tv/4nascar9#/w/5004749536/12

It was a superb race, even without GT traffic; there were some terrific head-to-head battles in DP. Despite the length and twistiness of the circuit, it does lend itself to super racing. COTA will suit any series.

Grand Am toughened up its penalties at COTA, but Iím not sure it was a positive step. It is logical for blatant contact/punting to be peanlised, but the officials went a bit overboard on a couple of incidents. A blanket approach is as ineffective as failing to peanlise bad driving.

Yes, itís best to watch the race and then judge the penalties. Some of the penalties were fair play, like Angelelli into turn 1. Some were too heavy-handed, such as penalties for mere panel-rubbing (no spin or accident).

Leniency over driving standards can be a problem, but so can OTT-penalties.

After a lengthy break, Grand-Am returns this weekend at the Barber Motorsports Park for the Porsche 250.

This is one of the best natural terrain road courses in America, imo, lovely sweeping corners and direction change. In DP and GT, Chevrolet was dominant in qualifying.

In GX qualifying, the Mazda diesels beat the Porsche Cayman. After how disastrous it was at Daytona and COTA, thatís an impressive turn-around.

TV coverage is live on Motors TV at 6:30 pm tomorrow.

I suspect that Grand-Am would accommodate Audiís V10, I cannot imagine them rejecting them on that basis. Ford is introducing a turbo V6 next year in DP, so the variety of engines would be interesting.

Audi is constantly looking to gain visibility in the US, so I can see why a DP project might be appealing.
It could be the first proper-engined Audi prototype since 2005Ö

Ah, I guess that positions might be set by points then. A wet race around Road Atlanta would be wild, but I would actually prefer to watch a dry race - they'll put on an amazing show in any condition.

Grand-Am returns after a long break this weekend at the Bell-Isle street course in Detroit. Live coverage will start today on Motors TV at 5:25 pm.

This course has been reconfigured to increase overtaking, with longer straightaways.

Hopefully we see plenty of overtaking, crashes and particularly caution periods.
