with the news that Perez is off to McLaren and handily backed by Telmex will Vodafone, who apparently arent financially doing well quit the McLaren sponsorship early and Telmex take it's place?
Just a bit of musing, havent any concrete proof, but Vodafone have already quit V8 Supercars sponsorship.

Very good point, Nick. Perez is without doubt bringing Telmex with him, and I’m sure this was a huge draw for McLaren. There has been uncertainty about Vodafone’s involvement for some time, and McLaren cannot afford a sponsorship shortfall like that. Telmex is likely to stay with McLaren for a long time, with Perez, so access to long-term cash might have been very tempting.

As brilliant as Hamilton is, Telmex wouldn’t be going to McLaren without Perez. As Telmex have shown in Grand-Am, once they start in a particular successful team with their driver, they stay there. As an independent, that financial security must be a decisive factor for McLaren.

But Telmex is not a global player & wouldn't gain much from the exposure of being with a big team like Mclaren, ok F1 is big in South America but Telmex already has a huge market share, advertising doesn't work full stop, even if i did see a Telmex logo on the McLaren i would never be able to purchase the product & nor would 80% of the F1 audiance worldwide.

True, but growing economies in Latin America are gaining larger consumer bases. F1 is likely to race more often in Latin markets as well. On the other hand, Europe’s consumer market is suffering from a lack of demand. Europe’s turmoil and shift away from Euro nations will make F1 more attractive to corporations in emerging markets.

Supporting Perez might also be very good PR in Telmex’s core markets. Supporting a Mexican on a global stage and fulfil his dreams – it must go down well.

I don’t know, but they seem to throw around a lot of cash. They sponsor Rojas and Ganassi in Grand-Am, yet Telmex doesn’t have a presence in North America. Arguably, that’s even more puzzling than sponsoring Perez in F1, as Grand Am doesn’t race in any Latin markets.

Having read a little on this it seems they will still be backing Sauber next season, which maybe means Vodafone will still be backing McLaren next season, however they could be on both I suppose

Its not unheard of one corporation to sponsor more than one team. Santander sponsors Ferrari and McLaren.

Yep. There is a good chance that Telmex will stay at Sauber because Esteban Gutierrez is going to the team. Gutierrez is a Telmex driver.

They haven't been paying enough tax in the UK and India, and got caught in India - no wonder.

The uk government said it was ok and could pay it back when they wanted to. Idiots. No wonder the governments broke.

Yep, they did a "sweet heart" deal with HMRC. If the Indian authorities had the balls to stand up to Vodafone, the UK authorities should have too. India is rife with corruption, but they got that move right.
