That must have been a tough choice, Michael Andretti gave him a ride when no one else would, but then who in IndyCar turns down Roger Penske?

I sure hope he doesn’t regret it, like when Kanaan turned down to Ganassi to stay loyal to Andretti – that was a waste in the end.

I hate Penske so I'm really pleased for him. Penske seems make hot\bone headed drivers of anyone who goes to them.

Briscoe’s future with Penske has been unclear for some months now; his win at Sonoma hasn’t eased concerns.

There is a good reason why Penske wanted RHR, he’s a Franchitti/Dixon type. He can master any type of course and stay calm in the heat of a title battle. Penske has drivers who have individual strength’s, but who don’t seem to combine everything that’s needed for a title.

If only Pagenaud wasn’t locked into Schmidt, he would be a good addition to Penske. Pagenaud has adapted to ovals very well, and is obviously amazing at road racing.

I wonder if Roger wants to hire Justin Wilson…won at Texas and is another capable road racer.

Rahal is almost certainly driving for his father’s team next year. I thought he would have been a good candidate for Penske, too. He’s never really clicked at Ganassi.

There are rumours that Kanaan will drive for Ed Carpenter’s team, too.

If Wilson isn't in contention, Briscoe might be saved at Penske by virtue of no stand-out drivers being available to replace him.

Thinking about it, I'd put newgarten in at Penske.

Newgarden was seemingly trying his best to take out RHR at Fontana, so Roger might have liked that.

Newgarden is a risk; although he’s shown flashes of speed and has done well considering is level of experience.

With Rahal leaving Ganassi, I wonder who replaces him...

Pagenaud had a good season, I wouldn't mind seeing him in a strong team. De Silvestro needs to move too, I'm sure she is a lot better than her results suggest with HVM. I'd still have reservations about them going to evil penske though.

Lotus are gone for next year, so HVM should be a little faster next year with or without a new engine deal

HMV are probably going to Honda motors.

The Lotus engine was just a plain disaster. All Lotus-powered cars got black flagged at Indianapolis, and even with upgrades in the year, it was still an underpowered engine.

I think Ford should enter IndyCar. With a tremendous final two races, a good crowd at Fontana and a new engine formula, it would suit them. “EcoBoost” fits perfectly with IndyCar’s 2.2 litre V6’s.

It would be superb to see, Allmendinger simply clicked with an open wheel car whilst in Champ Car, and was one of few drivers who won multiple races when Bourdais and Newman Hass were so dominant.

AJ gave NASCAR a good shot, but he never looked entirely comfortable in stock cars. I have a feeling that AJ is just what Penske needs in IndyCar, someone who is great at road racing and can win on the oval as well.

Briscoe is a good driver, but when it comes to getting sponsorship, an American who's raced in NASCAR will be easier to sell.

yes i agree. briscoe is good did well up untill 2010. he was great in the RS spyder in alms in 07 and just jump back in it at belle isle and petit and won in petit in 08. nearly won in 09 the title but hasn't really pick him self up after that.....

I think AJ might be in the penske seat and i think briscoe will go to another team whatever is open.

I really don’t think there is much point in AJ Allmendinger going back to NASCAR. No Cup team will take him for 2013; he might get a Nationwide drive if lucky. But then he has to ask himself: “Do I love NASCAR this much, going back to square one?”

If he returns to open wheel in IndyCar, he can be in a race-winning car straight away.

That’s what his reputation needs, not potentially limping along in a stock car. Even in one of the best Cup cars, he was struggling in that.

I know an IndyCar team will hire him, if Penske doesn’t. He’s very marketable for any team.

Briscoe is perhaps being treated unfairly, as Helio has struggled for consistency in the past few years, but those three Indianapolis 500 wins are like gold to Roger.
