Here: http://uk.ign.com/articles/2012/08/07/f1-2012-a-real-winning-formula

I am very glad to hear that playing with a pad don't be so uncomfortable anymore. I've never played a game with such strange physics, the cars would start spinning the tyres even when turning slightly.

I hope in typical Codemasters fashion, they don't make a game with cars that oversteer at the slightest throttle or steering application.

I'm eager to play the Circuit of Americas.

Talking of pads, the other day one of the buttons just ripped off. It was pretty funny but really strange. I've never had a pad go wrong.

Probably not. It's codemasters after all.

I can only hope. Ever since I played the first Toca game, Codemasters driving games have suffered the same problem. The cars feel way too skittish, and they manage to make neutral handling cars oversteer terribly.

F1 2011 was a new low, though. The cars would start wheel spinning in turns which are wide open in real life. I did hear that making the cars more user-friendly was a priority for F1 2012 Ė I sure hope so.

Iím not sure why Codemasters have got a good reputation for driving games, as the physics are terrible.

Champion Mode:

The mode in question reflects the staggering line up of talent competing in the sport this year. Each of the six current superstars has specific events calling you to beat them. The first is Kimi Raikonnen, starting a half dozen positions ahead of you but on worn tires. To advance, you have to chase him down in your freshly kitted vehicle and complete the circuit ahead of him. Beat him and itís Lewis Hamiltonís turn, taking him on in a wet weather race Ė and as much of a clichť as it is for the British racer to be caught in the rain, it makes for superbly thrilling race material.

I like the idea of that. Not every user will be a hardcore, F1 petrolhead. Whilst running the entire schedule appeals to me, others may want something more interactive and shorter.

The F1 2012 demo is now available, and Iíve had a go.

F1 2011 was poorly presented in my opinion, the graphics were fuzzy and the car colours didnít look realistic. When you load up the demo, youíre presented with a shiny McLaren. Theyíve replicated the chrome effect very well, straight away there is a big improvement.

My main bugbear with F1 2011 was how the cars felt skittish, and virtually uncontrollable in corners which are usually flat out/not traction limited. Well, 2012 goes some way to addressing this. In slow turns, the car doesnít snap loose so suddenly. In some high speed sweepers, though, the cars still start wheel spinning when in real life, that doesnít happen.

I enjoy using KERS and DRS, and the usability has to some extent been improved. Iím not sure whether to buy it, as I still feel uncomfortable.

Maybe Iíve been playing too much GT5, but when itís so slick and feels well developed, F1 2012 just feels a bit under-developed and crap.

If Polyphony Digital made an F1 game, that would be interesting.

If F1 2012 was tough but realistic, Iíd have no problem. However, the way that the cars steers and behave is not like in real life, not at least from what footage shows.

I think F1 2012ís lack of accessibility will alienate a more casual audience, maybe thatís why Codemasters is making that cartoon F1 gameÖ

I got it today and noticed a difference between 2012 & 2011 other than just car colour. I had a drive of the new USA track I quite like it obviously I drove a Lotus Laughing one thing I did find quite good over the old one is the young driver tests it got you used to the car before going into a season and was a sort of licence, the cars themselves take a bit of getting used to at first as i'm 13th on grid for first race in a Torro Rosso and i've got it all on professional and that is noticably harder than the previous game, so in all its alright

I shall get F1 2012 when it gets cheaper. Strangely, I have no real desire to buy it. The demo was improved over F1 2011, which was a terrible game. But the demo didnít make me yearn for 2012.

It was quite telling that Amazon immediately started selling 12 for £32.

I will leave it to for a while, like Sav it doesn't appeal to me, i dunno why Neutral

I have Forza Horizon on order, i just want something a bit different other than boring circuits, i felt the penalty's in F1 2011 were way to harsh, even on the lowest setting.
