http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/sport/sportresults/MotoGP/2012/January/jan1312-2012-motogp-line-up-unveiled/

only 21 bike on the motogp grid in 2012 of which there are 9 crt bikes.

what are the odd of an all crt grid within 3 years, with no 'manufacturers' but with some manufacturer supplied motors.

So of the 9 teams granted entry under the CRT rules, only 3 haven't been confirmed (Keifer, Marc VDS and Paddock GP).

The top dog at Dorna reckons that the future of MotoGP lies with CRT-type bikes. Which is fair enough, but in reality the success of the idea will rely on them being able to match the prototypes on a lower budget. I think it's safe to say that for 2012 they won't be giving the full-blown bikes from Honda, Yamaha and Ducati a run for their money, but if they end up being the 'B-Class' after a couple more years racing, doubt will surely start to set in. Then again, with things the way they are in the world, the manufactures might have no choice but concede that it is the way to go.....

Ducati's already voiced their views on Aprilia's project, with the view that them selling a complete machine means it should be classed as a prototype rather than a CRT bike.

I think F1's proved before that survival of the series can continue without manufacturer efforts.

Moto 2 has been great so I wouldn't mind if Moto GP went the same way, Would love to see grids of 25+ plus again.

Looking forward to seeing moto3 this year as well, may not be as quick as the 125's but should be more people challenging for the win hopefully.

the moto 3 honda was thrashing the spainish championship bike at the end of last year, I think moto 3 will be faster than 125 within the first season.
