Lol, the house will be packed at Road Atlanta and empty in Bahrain. I can understand why they want to race in the Middle East, it's a growing market for car makers and a lot of sponsorship comes from the region. But, no spectators will turn up - commercial interests are important sadly.

Fuji and not Suzuka; is that to please Toyota by not racing at a track owned by Honda? Fuji Speedway is simply shit - Suzuka all the way. Interlagos is a nice addition, it's an awesome track that allows for regular overtaking.

Bahrain won't even have a safety car period with those Tesco car park run off areas, how crap is that.

Maybe they should race on the streets of Afghanistan, hey, it could be a growing market - you never know!

yes. i think quite poor that you have to choose between Petit le mans or WEC race and i am sure Petit le mans still offer le mans entry.....not really the right thing to do.

I do like interlago track but the race in 07 i think we pretty poor. i never saw it so just going what people said.

need more europe race and maybe petit or even laguna!?

I think the FIA cited the reason that Road Atlanta is too cramped both on the track and in the pits...wonder how they managed for 12 years. Rolling Eyes

There is a disparity between fans and commercial interests, hence the lack of European rounds. Europe is in turmoil where Asia, South America and Middle East are only becoming stronger economies. In terms of a sustainable Le Mans Championship and putting the WEC in a good place for the future, this good to have a presence in where opportunities lie.

i can't see bahrain happening

fuji's fine and if toyota are paying all the better

f1 tracks do tend to be problematic for sportcar racing, going to yas marine would be bad as the last 12 cars are one after another and thats a problem when overtaking is required every lap.

some of the LMS round like Paul Ricard was packed! look at silverstone always good crowds. i am sure if they had a round in germany they could draw the crowds in.

middle east is a needed market but track are not great. yas marina is good place it looks great but track great.

That's no real achievement at Paul Ricard considering they have barley any spectator spots or grandstands.

Fuji is one of the most dullest race tracks ever, and Suzuka is in the same country - Fuji looks even worse.

tilke did ruin it a big, where as sukuza is a hugenholtz and therefore better.

But fuji is half way up a mountain and well funded and quite a good sportscar track.

I'm sure if Toyota weren't paying they'd go to suzuka but thats the case.

yes because its not really a "place for racing" its been more testing track but more series are going there and i think might add places for fans plus its in a good location. Marseille only 30 odd minutes away same as Toulon. i think be great place to visit right near the coast be great weather plus perfect for Pre le mans testing..

The wec calendar looking likes it's unpopular with the teams and manufacters.

http://www.lemans.org/en/races/fia-world-endurance-championship/updates/World_Championship_2012_Calendar-_Reactions_5705.html

mainly due to the second half of the season and how far apart the races are.

I don't get the race versions of the GT-R. The road car has a turbocharged V6 and 4WD, like the Skyline always had, but the race car has RWD and an NA V8. Its just rather peculiar that the race car really doesn't relate to the road car's configuration.
