As expected, that looks superb. The graphics are vastly improved, taking GTA from a cartoony style to realism.

I'm glad that version 5 is going to be similar to San Andreas, SA's scale was incredible. Now on next generation consoles with HD, the results should be even more spectacular.

The golf buggy's were superb, they were on Vice City. You had to nick them from the golf course with people chasing you with golf stick's, oh, the memories. Laughing Driving the tank is a favourite of mine too, virtually cannot be destroyed - awfully handy...

I cannot wait to tear around the streets at night, that will be really exciting.

I would like oil slicks back in the cars, they were on GTA 1 and 2 when the franchise was 2D. It was a great way of getting rid of someone chasing you.

It appears that GTA 5 won't be launched until Spring 2013 now, nothing has been confirmed but official news on the game has been non-existant since the trailer release. confused

there will be a mention about it at the upcoming E3,

i have asked them directly Rockstar that is & they have said they don't put things out often because everyone goes crazy & tries to interpret the info in thousands of ways, they think it's better to not say anything, i think they are correct to do this because the games then don't get way over hyped.

as for the release date, who knows because i cannot see it being to late because of the release of the Sony Orbis & Xbox Durango consoles, they wouldn't push GTA-5 back to those, Sony & Microsoft would like it i suppose, maybe it will get a Wii U release though.

Sony Orbris, is that the replacement for PS3? That is interesting to hear from Rockstar, I can understand their point but the trailer was released a long time ago. Although interest wonít waiver Iíd like to know more now.

There was a supposed leak from an ex-Rockster employee who released some details about the game, although they didnít reveal much, and didnít appear to be very realistic info.

Some sites have suggested that GTA 5 might be released on next-gen consoles; I would be very surprised if that were the case, as you say. Sonyís and Microsoftís next consoles are probably far away from being released. GTA 5 wouldnít be released until 2014/15 if that was to happen.

Thatís what some recent rumours have suggested, for some months. But thinking about it, Rockstar may have little choice but to launch GTA 5 this year. If the next-gen consoles get launched next year, that may take a little shine off the launch of GTA. Plus, it is rumoured that PS4 wonít play previous PS3 games Ė so that may deter some people.

Iím not sure when GTA 5 entered development, but one would have to imagine that it was being developed a long time before the trailer was released.

Unlike cars though, there are no spy shots to tell us what/when its being developed! Razz

the next gen consoles are to far off for it to be released for them, the share price dropped the last time when GTA 4 was pushed back to the next financial year, it may be on the Wii U though.

New rumour: GTA 5 "delayed" until December...if we are to believe the October date was true in the first place!

I wonder how long GTA 5 has been in development, in light of last November's trailer release.

There we go then, so an October release date should be feasible.

Quote :
It seems Rockstar is finally set to pull back the veil on Grand Theft Auto 5, with a demo ready to be revealed to the outside world.

The developer is showing the game to press today, as confirmed by Game Informer editor-in-chief Andy McNamara, who posted on Twitter moments ago: "In NYC, about to check out December's cover game #GTAV", with an accompanying picture of Rockstar's logo.
So, GTA 5 will adorn the cover of GI's December issue, due out next month, and as Kotaku points out, it often reveals first details on its cover games shortly ahead of the magazine release.

So those of you tired of the slow drip-feed of info we've gotten so far will likely get your fill of new details next month if not sooner.

As reported earlier today, GameStop UK is listing a Grand Theft Auto 5 release date of Friday March 1, 2013. Probably placeholder, but March has been previously rumored.

OMG, am I the only one that gets too excited about every GTA screenshot and rumour? Laughing

The Gamestop date has to have credibility. Tesco listed GTA 5 for 31st March 2013, but quickly removed the date.

It is more likely to be a May release, for the start of the tax year also there does not seem to be many games going to be released in May 2013 maybe due to publishers not willing to put their games up against GTA V.

GTA fans, the time has come.

Game Informer has blown the lid off of Grand Theft Auto 5, revealing a tonne of previously unknown details about Rockstar's hugely anticipated crime game.

We know you're desperate to learn the facts, so while we type up something in more detail, we thought we'd summarise everything there is to know from Game Informer's preview in the list below.

GTA 5 "evolves nearly every mechanic" found in previous games in the series.
Features the biggest open world in the series' history - GTA 5's world is bigger than the worlds of Red Dead Redemption, San Andreas and GTA IV combined.
Three playable characters who you can switch between "at nearly any time".
Each character has their own specific abilities and story arc, with all three stories intertwined.
Camera zooms out to a "Google Earth-style" perspective when switching characters.
Character 1 - Michael, an ex-bank robber in his early 40s who retired after making a deal with the FIB. He has two teenage children and hates his wife Amanda. He's also the narrator of the original GTA 5 trailer.
Character 2 - Trevor, a former war veteran and a "drugged out psychopath". An experienced pilot.
Character 3 - Franklin, a repo man in his mid 20s described as a "young and ambitious hustler".
Certain characters from GTA IV and Episodes From Liberty City will also make an appearance. Rockstar's Dan Houser says we'll never see characters from the PS2 era, though. "The five PS2 games are one universe, and this is the high definition universe, so they don't co-exist," he says.
No major actors cast as any of the main characters.
Focus on making more diverse missions.
Heists and bank robberies are a big theme to the game.
Characters will work together during missions, and you can switch between characters mid-mission to fulfill different roles. For example, during a chase sequence you can pilot the getaway helicopter as Trevor, snipe pursuing pilots as Franklin, or fire an assault rifle as Michael.
Missions will have a "very diiferent tone depending on who's on them, how many people are on them, and how much we're using switches", says Houser.
Even when you're not controlling them, each character will still go about their own business. "You may be surprised by the situations they find themselves in should you switch back to check up on them," says Game Informer.
Big advances to lighting and shader model. Greater draw distance.
Improved vehicle handling and physics - "The cars hold to the ground better... It feels more like a racing game," Houser says.
More vehicles than in any GTA to date, including BMXs, mountain bikes, road bikes, dirt bikes, cars, trucks, helicopters, planes, ATVs and Jet Skis, but vehicle manufacturers are still fictional.
Fighter jets appear to be in. One screenshot shows a fighter equipped with missiles, as a helicopter explodes in the background.
Improved shooting and melee combat. Melee combat "never going to be as big a deal as shooting," though, warns Houser.
Pedestrians are fully mo-capped and more interactive.
You can rappel down buildings, although it's not confirmed whether this is specific to certain missions.
Los Santos is described as a "huge and diverse city", combining the best of Red Dead Redemption's "large open expanses" with GTA IV's "densely packed urban environment".
Areas in the game world include beachfronts, mountains, the wilderness, a "Salton Sea" region, a military base and the suburbs.
GTA: San Andreas was about gang culture. GTA 5 is about capturing the "contemporary culture of LA".
There will be a "vibrant and fun" economy, but you won't be able to buy property.
A variety of different side missions and "more sophisticated" minigames, including yoga, triathlons, Jet Skiing, base-jumping, tennis and golf. There's a full golf course in the game. You can go scuba diving along the coastline of Los Santos, or go to the gym on the seafront.
Each character will have unique hobbies, including "one or two key minigame activities per character".
San Andreas' RPG-like player customization is still absent, but you can customize the clothing of each character.
GTA IV's romance feature has been removed.
Like in GTA IV, players can make friends and hang out with certain NPCs, including Michael's wife Amanda and son Jimmy, Franklin's "crazy friend" Lamar, and Trevor's mate Ron.
GTA IV's mobile phone returns, but a lot of its features have been altered. You can use it to access the internet.
Dynamic missions - hidden missions dotted around the game world. "Going off-road in the desert, you may come across two parked cars and a sea of dead bodies around them... Investigate if you want."

Iím staggered that the world will be bigger than San Andreas, GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption put together Ė thatís amazing. I never fully explored San Andreas, this will probably put open world gaming to a whole new level.

Will there be a return of jet packs? I loved those on San Andreas; you could shoot down below and quickly escape.

GTA since the third iteration has changed the gaming world forever, the ability to go anywhere, do anything is too tempting.

New screenshots and the article in the magazine which got the info: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=108&t=1155853&mid=0&i=460&nmt=The+GTA+appreciation+thread&mid=0

Some cracking screenshots that I didn't notice, here: http://www.examiner.com/slideshow/grand-theft-auto-5-development-update-more-screens-leaked#slide=55205756

Worth checking IGN this coming week:
Quote :
Starting Monday, November 12th, IGN will have a slew of exclusive GTA V content hitting every single day, all week long. From our first impressions of the first mission and the inner-workings of three playable characters, to the gigantic scope of the re-imagined city of Los Santos, you can read about it and watch it all first, right here.

Checking out the whole GTA V world, will that take about a year? Laughing
