For the final time this season, IndyCar goes street racing this weekend for a brand new event - the Baltimore Grand Prix. The 12 turn, 2.4 mile course has a variety of slow corners, medium speed corners, fast corners and long straightaways for decent overtaking.

I hope for an action replay of Toronto than Mid-Ohio or Sears Point. Hopefully there's crazy restarts, multiple cautions and drivers dive-bombing each other into these tight turns. Viso and Tagliani are guaranteed to provide the fireworks. crashing

The race starts at approximately 7:45 pm - coverage can be seen on Sky Sports or www.justin.tv

don't worry, all that sort of racing will be gone by the start of next year, once the rule is updated and the vagarys are removed there will be punsihments for stepping out of line.

Will Power is on pole...yawn - but these street races can fuck up drivers races easily when a caution comes out. Hoping for maximum chaos tomorrow.

That pile up at the hairpin was superb, great action. Have to say, Will Power drove a blinding race. He had to make up three seconds a lap compared to Servia who pitted under caution, he did exactly that to come out of the lead. The way he skimmed the walls was superb to watch.

Some cars retired due to suspension-related failures, no wonder when the track was so bumpy.

No idea what Briscoe was doing punting Hunter-Reay, Hunter-Reay was committed to the hairpin and Briscoe barrelled inside and made contact. Danica overtook Hunter-Reay under a yellow - bet nothing will happen lol.

at least danica won't will another indycar, another motor race

baltimore was good and bad. The chincane in the front start finish straight was a bit stupid. Something to do with tram lines. If thats fixed for next year it sound be quite a good track.

That stack of tyres where the quick left right corner is an accident waiting to happen, and I agree, the final chicane on the front straight is a horrible afterthought.

Kanaan's brake failure in practice was bloody scary, the car nearly hit a marshal.

Anyone see the Motegi race on the road course? It was a pretty boring race with passing very difficult. Dario Franchitti found himself in trouble when he crashed into Briscoe on a restart. He got a penalty for it.

Will Power now leads the points, but with Kentucky and Las Vegas Motor Speedway being ovals I can see Dario winning the championship.

Will Power hasn't won on an oval properly, now that Helio was put to the back - Dario gained another two points on Power by not doing any driving. Laughing Las Vegas will be a wild card being a new track for IndyCar.

I cannot believe that those lottery races were actually points races, it's a worse system than the Chase in NASCAR - and that takes some beating. Just shows how desperate IndyCar is to drum up interest.

I watched Motegi. Dario had one of his worst weekends in Indycar but he still ended up 8th after Helios penalty Very Happy

Dixon did a great job for the team, I hope Target can get the job done on the ovals now.

Dario may not even need to win either race if Will Power crashes, which he frequently does on ovals. I just feel that IndyCar has had too many road-street courses and not enough short ovals, especially when some of the road course races like Mido-Ohio and Sonoma are snoozers.
