I won't be able to watch all night, i think it will be about 2am for me to.

If the race was close which it would have been if the Toyota's were still in it, maybe i would have stayed up but not now, i think next year i might do as there will be more teams & cars & the racing will be closer.

#7 Toyota's in 45th and 30 laps down. Think they'll be lucky to get back onto the lead lap let alone fight for the lead.

Ant has a broken back, but for a 190mph accident not as bad as could be!

Its quietened down now, but there have been some enthralling periods so far. The battle between the Aston Vantage and factory Corvette was absolutely thrilling, that was real racing. If Turner hadn’t of overshot Arnarge, that would have continued. I’m not really sure how the 7 Toyota managed to catch the Audi, but that was another amazing battle.

As for Davidson’s accident, thank goodness he’s okay. I see that the Amateur driver is getting a hard time for his driving. It was one of those racing deals, imo. Every GT driver cannot be expected to move out of the way every time. Prototype drivers shouldn’t have such blind faith in GT driver’s moving around the track to the exact degree. Clearly Davidson was alongside Perazzini, but the closing speeds might have meant that he wouldn’t have expected Davidson to arrive so soon.

The Toyota seems to have stunning acceleration from around 50 mph, in what one might call “mid-range” in a road car. Even when the Audi passed it into Arnarge, the 7 car powered by back.

As for the Deltawing, it does look very striking and will certainly turn heads. However, I don’t really see the point of it. For being a competitive race car, it’s far too narrow compared to a conventional car. It should be super draggy as well, but it isn’t that special in a straight line either.

The Deltawing isn’t especially innovative or special, for me. Frankly, with the level of technology that the Audi and Toyota have – those are real technological marvels in comparison.

a what ?

maybe Sav, but that is the fastest part of the track & the GT cars have better visibility than the LMP cars, it did not look deliberate though & was a racing accident, unlike the Toyota & DeltaWing accident, the Toyota was clearly to blame & it does look deliberate.

Nakijima does drive for a Japanese maker that is a rival to the company that supports the DW…just thought I’d put that conspiracy theory out there.

Al, I think that the back markers generally do a good job of moving out of the way. However, they cannot be expected to act perfectly every time.

There is really no excuse for hitting the DW like he did, he simply must have known the DW was there, if you look at the video of the crash he is behind the DW then overtakes it & then moves straight across into it to attempt to overtake the Audi.
