That looks awfully awkward. Why are the sidepods so fat and tubby? The bodywork near the rear wheels rise like humps in a horrible way.

Still, at least these cars will be designed with road and street courses in mind. They should be a lot faster and at least they donít look as agricultural as the old Dallara. Iím looking forward to seeing an end to spec engines as well; having General Motors build engines is a massive boost for the series.

i don't think they'll be faster, on the ovals being much faster will be a big proper like when champcar went to texas and drivers wre blacking out.

imo the best big of the new car is that rise in the side pod before the back wheels. But the front looks odd and an open wheeler with with anything behind the back wheels like that is weird.

It looks mis-matched, too skinny at the front and too bloated at the middle and rear.

The old Dallara was never designed to run on road courses as IRL was originally all ovals, the current car only has deeper wings and a reverse gear as some of the modifications for road races. This car is going to be designed to run road races from the start, so I would hope it will be faster on road courses. The current dog of a car looks slow on road courses with too much grip compared to the Champ Cars. Plus, the new V6's will produce more power and way more torque.

I would like to see record-breaking laps of 240 mph + qualifying laps at Indianapolis too.

with whats techniclly possible 260+ mph at indy should be possible but no driver can take the g force, there going to have to restrict them on ovals. This is the road orse car anyway the oval car will be different.

From what i'm hearing no one likes the air box much

Yup, nobody likes the air box much. I personally don't mind it, it's the skinny appearance at the front and the bloated rear end that grates me.
