The IndyCar Series heads to the famous streets of Long Beach, California this weekend for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Live coverage starts at 9 pm on Sky Sports 4.

I cannot wait for this race, it will be like destruction derby but with IndyCar's.

Guess who's back? Paul Tracy! http://www.indycar.com/news/show/55-izod-indycar-series/42115-re-enter-the-dragon/

Hey, does anybody remember in ChampCar when Tracy and Boudais used to fight? How about a fist fight on the streets of Long Beach between those two? It's a fantastic way to boost TV ratings.

Oh no, Power on pole again but two Andretti cars behind:

Hope that Hunter-Reay crashes into Power leaving Mike Conway to lead.

Pretty boring race, except Helio crashing into Power on the restart. Loved that, about time that Power had a bad finish. I wouldn't want to be in the Penske post-race meeting! affraid

Conway was superb, not sure why he was so fast on the final restart, but passing Briscoe looked effortless.

The restarts were crap, so strung out and not even nearly side-by-side - no wonder it was follow the leader into the first turn.

Bourdais's rant at Marco was hilarious, I see Bourdais is still a whinger.

Great driving at the end for Conway. So happy for him, thought his luck would never change. Clean drive from Dario, don't think he had a great car today so 3rd is a real result.

Classic move by Helio LOL

Its not a long beach race unless a Penske driver screws Dixons race so well done to them.

Helio is turning into a menace, he turned around Wilson in the final turn as well.

I've decided that Helio Castroneves was absolutely fantastic, he was the driver of the race. First he turns around Justin Wilson, creating a caution to close everybody up. Then, he crashes into Will Power, creating another caution and he stopped Power running away on the road course's.

Top man, great job. Clapping bravo

He did his best to spice up the show, sadly it wasn't enough. Just not enough carnage, hopefully Brazil doesn't disappoint. The restarts were a shambles, the first couple of row's lined up side-by-side, but the rest just floored the throttle from the final hairpin on the restarts which created huge speed difference's.

double file restarts were never going to work at long beach

I agree it would be tricky to coordinate, but just like in St Petersberg, the drivers mid-field went wide open on the throttle as soon as they left the hairpin. Certain drivers just don't understand the concept of NOT FLOORING IT UNTIL THE GREEN FLAG IS SHOWN.

I think there should be a speed limiter on the restarts, restricting all drivers to 50 mph until the green flag is shown. It'll stop drivers ignoring the restart procedure.

In other news, IndyCar was reported by today's Times Newspaper. It was a report about Conway's win, and his Indianapolis 500 crash. Nice to see other motorsport actually reported by the mainstream media.

worringly i think a speed limt isn't a bad idea, although if everyone is restricted to 50 how to they form up if everyone is doing 50 because you coundn't catch up?

There would be a speed limiter activation point before the final turn, before that point, each row would have to be side-by-side or face drive through penalties.

Double file restarts or standing restarts are fine by me, it's single-file rolling restarts that I cannot stand - very boring and they don't improve the show.

That still wouldn't work at long beach as the final hairpin is too tight for one car to go around let alone two side by side.
