That's a rather simplistic statement, like every form of motor racing there are exciting championships and boring ones - and no type of racing, including sportscars is immune from that.

What I find amazing about ALMS, is that the prototype classes are pretty bare - usually the headline classes elsewhere. But the GT classes more than make up for that, the GTC additions in particular are brilliant.

Every series does like WTCC which boring every race but that race was very exciting!

The prototype problem is not really the series problem.....which manufacturer is going to enter a national championship when there is the ILMC?

i think the ALMS need to keep grandfather cars in the series. so a team can run a car like the Lola-aston martin or other cars it will help. Like if CORE from FLM wanted to race in LMP1 with a grandfather they should do that.

GT is always good and even GTC is!

So glad Risi won! Very Happy

ALMS is mainly so brilliant because the all the classes are so competitive, also with factory support from manufacturers going to ALMS GT teams. Even with a limited P1 class, it managed to put on an amazing end like at Road America. Because all the classes are competitive and close, the cars in individual classes are not separated by laps - they race for genuine position.

Battles like last Saturday's P1 battle; two drivers racing each other for the position is what all racing should be like. I'm not interested in seeing a bunch of cars miles away from each other, and occasionally they try and unlap each other - that's crap.

I always find it staggering that ALMS uses virtually the same cars as LMS and runs to almost identical rules yet ALMS is so much more exciting. Its like the two are totally unrelated is the huge difference in entertainment.

For the next race Baltimore you can pick any 3 cars you like from any class you like. But all 3 muust be in the same class. SO thats 3 lmpc cars or 3 gt cars or 3 gtc cars thats up to you.

yeah thats what i've always done. If I had know I would have picked a team. But like I said I thought the race was tomorrow. d'oh.

IIRC sav hasn't picked a new team for BMW Motorsport since round 2 and yet he's got 112 point's since without picking a team (not including Baltimore)
