I almost forgot that WTCC was starting this weekend. The best feature of the races are that they are in the evening, and the show is always better the later in the day it starts.

I'll just watch the first round to see what the racing is like, if there is TDI domination then I'll give up.

I hope Volvo can mix it up near the front, the C30 using eco-weeny bioethanol sounds superb.

Just see, race 2's grid is determined by the qualifying results - what on earth is the point of that????

Hope BMW do well, the problem is, no longer is a Priaulx-calibre driver in a BMW anymore.

Quali seems messy now where you don't want to push too much, cos that sets the reversed time for race 2, but you need to be quick enough to get in the top 10 to make the shoot out.
Well done to Huffy for setting a conventional pole and being faster than Yvan, but it's race day that counts. Looks like it'll be between these two, not really sure why RML kept Menu when there are better drivers available.

Barth sent to back of grid for infringements

Menu now starts race 2 from pole http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/90052

If its dry, I can see the BMW's being quick. Coronel was half a second clear of everybody when practice was dry on Friday.

Wow, those were some of the worst races I've watched.

Nice to see how fast the BMW's were down the straights, even faster then the evil TDI! See, no need for diesel for good acceleration - just need a turbocharger.

race 1 was pretty dull, race 2 had a bit more interest, but WTCC this year really has lost it's mojo, BTCC and STCC (and Superstars) are where it's at in touring cars in the northern hemisphere (someone please show STCC in the UK on tv)

Agreed, when I was watching on Sunday, I was wondering where everybody had gone. Its a half-full championship now, with few world-class drivers and ageing cars. And if the racing is as poor as it was on Sunday, bigger question marks should remain over WTCC.

Really, WTCC should have Toyota, Nissan, Peugeot etc. Some of them have been rumoured, but that's all. BTCC will have more manufacturers then the WORLD championship.

DTM will be appealing once again in 2012, with the three German giant's going at it.
