Poor Eurosport, how will they fill this extremely important void in their scheduling...

Here's a thought, with the first races in Bahrain already cancelled and now the F1 weekend also cancelled does that not mean that Bianchi is technically champion after heading the series after what would appear to be the only round in Abu-Dhabi.

I know the situation over in Bahrain is an unpleasant one, but the events that have transgressed have made the series look rather silly, three rounds on two tracks comprising the entirety of the championship to begin with was too minimalistic. But now with the prospect of a single round season it's a bit mad. It is supposed to be an Asian series but doesn't venture outside the middle east, when there is a plethora of suitable venues across Japan, China, Malaysia and other countries on the continent. Yes there were problems with the round in Indonesia a couple of years back, with some poor marshalling resulting in the safety car being out for most of the event while recovery vehicles managed to get stuck, but there is no shortage of alternatives.

I would like GP2 Asia to venture out of the Middle East to give some weight to the 'Asia' tag. However as it has already been said, the Indonesia round was the biggest shambolic mess I've ever seen. A track surface so bad the teams cars were badly damaged afterwards and marshals who took ten years to move one car.

A potential solution would be to run the GP2 races with the Asian Formula 1 races - like when Malaysia and China were on the GP2 calendar a few years ago. But the problem with that is that F1's Asian races are scattered out. They don't all run at similar times of the year, and people would loose interest in a championship with massive breaks between races.

Maybe as a compromise, China and Malaysia could return as they are early in the F1 season? Why did they even go? So there would not be a gap of about half a year between races.
