They did run a diesal hybrid at silverstone 08....when the just totelly mess up the race.

Are rules favouriting hybrids in 2011.....??

they're allowing hybrids, and most manufacters are going that way and away from diesel. Race what you sell

Yep that was what Aston and Audi were saying, that the new regulations favour Hybrids over Petrols. Next year is certainly going to be interesting.

I read that too, for me thatís not true innovation Ė thatís just tweaking rules to get a desired effect. A bit like a government subsidy encouraging you to buy something, even though it might be crap.

If we are really to see how competitive hybridís can be on the track, lets see the rules being equal with no artificial weight breaks for hybrid powered cars. In the road car market, there is no where for hybridís to hide Ė in cold numbers they are more expensive and slower then conventional powered cars. It should be like that on the race track too, lets just see which fuel is truly fastest amongst top manufacturer teams (on the basis that other top-line manufacturers come).
