It could be quite a battle, the new gt1's arn't much if at all faster than the gt2's and are less reliably and gt3 isn't far behind gt2. The Audi R8 is particually close (if it hasn't been slowed down) This could easily be a 25 car battle for the win.

If there is any coverge should be on GT1.tv but i dout they will show full 24 they never do.

i thought the GT1 were not going to be in the 24hour race?

The Audi have been struggling the GT3 race they have been restricted in performance quite heavy, they won jarama becasue the corvette had a problem on the last lap. The Corvette is the car of the field at the minute in GT3

there wasn't going to be, but once fia gt2 tanked it become much more open. Rumours of it being a VLn race sadly haven't happen though.

101 and 102 cars for me. Bloomberg (Sky channel 502) seems to show GT1 races live, I hope they show some live coverage of this as well.

Reading the entry list, a certain Michael Waltrip from NASCAR is participating. Wonder why, he is terrible at road courses.

AF Corse takes Spa 24 Hours pole

Quote :
Ferrari will start this year's Spa 24 Hours from pole after AF Corse's Gianmaria Bruni was quickest in last night's qualifying session.

The best GT2, GT3 and National-specification cars proved evenly matched on the dry track and the leading times were set around 10pm.

Ex-Formula 1 racer Bruni, who will share with Bert Longin, Eric van de Poele and Toni Vilander, took pole with a lap of 2m22.403s. Dirk Werner's GTN class BMW M3 immediately responded but missed out by less than 0.2 seconds.

The GT3 Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMSs, which proved fast in the wet earlier during the week, were also in contention. Marcel Fassler recorded the best time, with 2m22.807s, while Andrea Piccini was two tenths behind as Audi locked out the second row.

Peter Kox was fifth quickest in another GT3 machine, the #84 Reiter Engineering Lamborghini Gallardo, just ahead of the second BMW M3.

The fastest Porsche, and second in GT2, was the IMSA Performance 911 of Raymond Narac, Patricks Long and Pilet, and Richard Lietz. Its best was 2m23.960s for seventh overall.

endurance racing is exciting

As Charly Lamm says there are those you get 24 hour racing and there are those who don't.

Even on a timing screen this is better than _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _.
