Condolences to all at Peugeot. To understand defeat is to understand victory, and there's no doubt they'll come back next year stronger.

They hope. RLM said they program could be on the line.........

they could have done with Mansell finishing, looking at the results they could have done really well, not sure if Mansell will be back, they said they needed a result to get a sponsor & the car they have now won't be any good next year either, the AOC really have to do something about this because the smaller teams & manufactures can compete with Audi & Peugeot, i think if its allowed to be the same next year Audi & Peugeot will destroy LeMans & endurance racing like Porsche & Mercedes did with FIA GT racing.

VW did very well in this race, congratulations to them. It is worrying that all Peugeot's encourntered issues - and this is the fourth year of the 908.

Its been great on the forum too, now just waiting for F1.

Couldn't belive it this morning I got up to find the #2 Peugeot not leading was rather annoyed at that and the Audi was leading too, however can't take it away from Audi its a great victory again without doubt I feel the Peugeot was faster but its not a sprint its an endurance race and Audi once again proved they have the ability to do the job once again

Oh and sorry about the random shit in the early hours Laughing involving Pritt Sticks

Peugeot took advice from Red Bull for this years Le Mans. Build a car that is the fastest but cannot finish the race. Embarassed

If I sent you some blanks would you be able to copy that for me, Chris? Had to work at Morrisons for most of the 24-hours so didn't get to see much at all...

Just recording the Group C race onto DVD and just had a chuckle. The guys said after the race "Maybe Dr Ullrich should take notice of this race. Let 4 cars get ahead of you they'll retire and you'll win the race"

It was the Eurosport chaps that put the curses on Peugeot lol!

Ok I'm officially the most unimpressed person ever. The nearest car to the leading Audi was 29 laps back. That's not a race, that's a procession..... Great cars, amazing spectacle but I can't see how anyone can call that exciting. Sorry guys.

I think Le Mans has its own appeal to some extent. The track itself is just fantastic, not because of the history but because of the corners. The Mulsanne straight and Porsche curves for example, are rather special seeing cars being hustled. Again to some extent, there is something quite appealing about the GT2 class - with all those different sounding, looking and handling sportscars.

Also, because it is arguably one of the world's most toughest and demanding races - that itself makes it interesting to watch (for me anyway).

But I can understand Laker's point. I am a fan of Le Mans specifically and always have been. But the fact remains, endurance racing is very, very, very spread out - there is not a single person who can deny this. The results show this, and it is only invertible that a lot of people would perceive this to be boring. For an unassuming person, this can make watching the race very stale - because there is very little genuine overtaking. And if it does happen - you have to wait for literally hours. Of course, that is not to say that there were no battles at all. The Corvette v Ferrari battle was superb, real racing against two great drivers. But to be brutally honest, that is the only on-track battle that I can remember.

Certain people are were more then happy to criticise a certain race in Canada that had frequent overtaking in all stages of the race and (which is factually correct and I can prove if need be), and where the top five cars were all closely fighting for the win and podium. But will turn a blind eye when watching another certain race with very little genuine overtaking and cars that merely dropped out with technical issues (you know who you are Wink Laughing ).

You have to be a tad objective here (its hard, I know from past experience), to hard core enthusiasts it may have been amazing. But, one has to recognise why somebody other then a hardcore enthusiast might have thought it was dull. For a lot of people in my opinion, the frantic and accessible nature of a lot of sports is what is appealing. And for all the incredible diversity that Le Mans has, with car development and different engines, tyres etc allowed - it does not necessarily translate into a better raw on-track spectacle that makes the race more entertaining. This is proven with the immense gaps between respective cars. On the other hand, technical diversity is interesting - and its something that I enjoy about the sport. But there is a strong argument that the actual on-track product and competitiveness in the competitors is king in entertaining viewers ans motivating them to watch a particular sport.

If the ACO want to grow Le Mans racing, which they are clearly trying to do with the the International Cup - then they will have to shorten the races if they really want to appeal to a wider audience - and that will be critical in attracting new car makers to LMP1 for ultimate exposure. In a time limited world - even 6 hours is too long for casual viewers. New viewers will not adjust to the ACO - the ACO needs to adjust to it.
