Not exactly the best way to start a weekend. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/84151

Saw the footage at the beginning of live qualifying. Nasty. I'd imagine he'd be out now for 3 races at least with that kind of injury. Won't do his championship defence any good considering how well Lorenzo's been doing this season so far.

At least he'll have more time to recover fully. Just a pain in the a*** that he won't be at Silverstone. No

BBC News showed it, it was a very violent crash. Lorenzo's championship now?

How many fans will want a refund now.

Is Rossi struggling to cope now with the youngers ones. A guy who has hardly had a scratch on him for over 10 years now has suffered too bad injuries within months of each other.

I know i've slammed Stoner in the past and am not a big fan of his, but I would like to re-tract everthing I have said about him and wish Stoner all the best and hopefully take the title away from the little Spanish git. Sorry Lorenzo.

I think this might be the end of Rossi if i'm honest, he doesnt bounce so well anymore, and i think he could struggle to come back from it (Hope he proves me wrong though)

Cant wait for Silverstone now, Rossi's not there and Bau is fcuked, wonderful Laughing Casey Stoner fan for the season now Wink

Smith....I thought you be a Lorenzo fan lol!

I think pedrosa has chance to win the title. If doesn't crash he can win.

I hope stoner can do well

Maybe Pedrosa can challenge Lorenzo to the title...

It's Lorenzos Title. Until the Ducati gets better Stoner won't be challenging each race and Pedrosa is bound to get injured again soon. I agree with Smith, This looks to be the turning point in Moto GP, A new chapter is now being written.

I think Casey Stoner has been suffering a bad case of Rossitus.

Symtons

loss of preformance
crashing
falling under pressure
fatigue

but rossi being out hasn't helped.

Think Lorenzo suffered some of those symptoms couple of years ago. Seems OK now though. Wink

As for Stoner, could it be down to something that Ducati has done with the GP10? Coincidently, all the crashes so far this season (including Hayden on Sunday) have involved the front end letting go mid corner. That could be one factor. Another could be the engine: switching from the 'screamer' to what they have now might have resulted in a more rider-friendly machine, but might have hindered its overall performance to the point where it can't battle with the Yamaha, and perhaps even the Honda.

I don't think it will have anything to do with the different engine, But I maybe wrong. I think this season their have tried to build a bike for any rider (Remember how nobody could ride it apart from Stoner, example Melandri) and it hasn't worked out.

Their will get it figured out but sadly the championship will be beyond them when their do.

If Rossi is out for the next 3-4 GP's will their look into bringing anybody else in?

Haydens crash at Jerez (practice) wasn't front end. The rest were.

Yamaha have 2 races to put someone on the rossi bike. There is no choice they have to find someone.

The bigger question is who

Edwards
Bayliss
Toseland

Can't be
Spies
Test rider

Yamaha arent replacing him for the next two rounds, then it'll be Edwards. No chance Bayliss, he is getting ready for his WSBK comeback in a couple of months

Takahashi has been mentioned as a replacement too.

Lots of unhappy people at Silverstone next weekend, including me in a way as i was hoping to get a autograph in the pitwalk on friday.

Anyone else going?

Going Sunday. Bit of a pain that Rossi won't be there, but not much can be done about it. Neutral

I am going to be there (Instead of Valencia, getting too expensive that place, 7 fcuking euro for a pint!!!), disapointed obviously but not as much as if it was my first time (Plus i have seen a couple of Vale podiums which will do me). Just hoping Bautista doesnt further injure himself, and if Simoncelli throws himself at the scenery it'll be the perfect weekend Laughing Looking forward to seeing the Superstock race thats going to be on, the likes of Brookes and McGuinness are gonna be in it Cool

I won't be going to it, I will be at Croft instead. Will have to wait and see if it's the right choice or not. Laughing

I'm going. Gutted Rossi won't be there but I have seen him every year since his GP debut so I guess it's not all so bad! It should be Lorenzo's title now - only Pedrosa has the speed to compete with him but he seems to struggle to do this on a consistent basis.

So who would stand in for Toseland if that did happen?

This is getting really confusing. scratch

Well I think it will be for just one race So if WSBK doesn't collide JT may as well do it.

I think you can go 3 races before having to find a replacement, So after the 4th race with the guest rider Rossi may be ready to jump back on away.
