From a racing point of view, I think it will be good. They'll only have an hour to gain positions, so it'll be a sprint race from start to finish. After all, not all sports car races have to be endurance races.

Sounds like a strange qualifying session, large crash and rain in Abu Dhabi!

I know its easier to speculate and recommend solutions in hindsight, but perhaps the run off area needs to be extended at the end of those two colossal straights. Because when a failure does happen when a driver hits the brake's, he/she really hasn't got a lot of space to scrub off speed.

so is GT1 no longer going to have ANY true endurance races? or is it a series with races of different lengths to test every aspect of car and driver over the course of the season?

Nope 2 1 hour races per weekend.

Endurance is what the LMS is for

Almost sounds like it's going the way Touring Cars has gone, or BTCC at least. I remember a time when BTCC had a short race, then a long race in which they needed pitstops (and I think one was even mandatory?), have to say as much as I like BTCC now, I preferred it back then.

One hour race appears to be what they call an 'Endurance' race on Forza3 (looking at the list of events).

Yeah it was they had the yellow strip in the window.

We'll see how the races are tomorrow, the 1st race could be good with the strange qually so today, the result of race one sets the grid for race 2 which pays more points

Is it 1PM GMT or 1PM local time the race starts? I can only seem to find a time of 1300 but no sign of whether that's local etc, unless I'm being dim and missing something.

What is the point! of having two people changing tires must be the ACO rule

I think they shouldn't change drivers its not really an endurance, i would only change one side of the tires or front or rear

Ford GT does look good Very Happy

two guys over the line which is the ACO rule, However i think the cars will be good asset at le mans, Nice for the fans.

I can't belive Vitaphone kept Miguel Ramos and not alex muller but Ramos is funding the 2nd car.

Race 1 was good, the vette's ford and MC12's look pretty close in performance. shame the Nissan's were a bit far down.

Ramos move at the start was optamistic in the extreme Surprised
