That is true, if its shit hot fast and wins everything - then its the success that really matters - not the visual looks. But still, it is still a rather unfortunate looking car.

The coverage for this is shit, does anybody know if Justin TV shows this? I want to see the BMW's. Sad

BMW should win GT2 just for turning up.

hmm I would be surprised if Justin TV have it on but i don't know if anyone does find coverage post here please. I may catch the end from when i come from the south.

I would check the the midweek motorsports listeners collective for coverage. Links on there are the best.

GT2 should be good.

I have issues with Eurosport's coverage.

1. Why didn't they show the start live? Like they did with GP2 Asia, they showed something that wasn't scheduled to be shown. Unless I'm mistaken, an athlete describing her diet was not scheduled in my guide. Well whether that was supposed to be shown or not, I don't care - they missed the start which was brilliant after they showed it after 20 minutes. Rolling Eyes

2. The coverage appeared to be sponsored by Audi, whilst Audi may have liked it - it was dreadful for TV. The R15 just sped off into the distance, that WASN'T A MOTOR RACE. It was like watching an extended test session. They barley showed GT2, which was more interesting. There was a good battle between the two front running Ferrari's.

3. Why even bother showing the hours live, then another 15 mins live - then the rest not live? What on earth is the point of showing that many hours, and not showing the end of a 6 or 8 hour race - whatever it was. If I'm an unassuming viewer, I'd just loose interest.

LMS needs more viewers to become attracted to the series, and the TV coverage (some of which is not Eurosport's fault) does the series no favours whatsoever.

I agree with that, also when it was suppose to be on for 30mins at 1pm, CK said preety much striaght away that they had to go again. Did look good in HD tho and the new graphics package was very nice.

Oh, and another thing. They didn't display the positions of each car/driver very often. So following the race was difficult with well over 40 cars racing, we had to rely on Carlton to tell us - when he felt like it.

In this situation, it should be on Motors TV. But they seem to be more interested in MX motorcross these days.

i missed eurosports coverage of it due to travelling but sounds really bad Sad

I want to bring up a point

1 GT1 a saleen.........That is just poor turn out there is only 8 GT1's at le mans which last about 5minutes before break down. So i was thinking why didn't they add GT3 class clearly is has more cars in most of them are proven racing cars

GT3
Audi R8
Aston martin DBRS
Morgan
Ferrari F430
Lamborghini
Porsche
corvette
Ford GT
BMW
Mercedes-Benz SLS

cleary its the way forward......????

I couldn't agree more. Just look at how many car manufacturers are making GT3 cars, BMW only launched a Z4 GT3 a few months ago, Mercedes have a car and all the established makers have cars in the class.

GT3 would be epic in LMS, just imagine all those cars battling and brushing body panels. ALMS has introduced slower classes in recent years with the challenge Porsche's. Its about time that LMS introduced a new category and get rid of the unpopular one, lets be honest - this is where sports car racing is at the moment. Prototype classes lack competition, GT3 has it in spades with all these cars being made.

And I don't think many people care whether GT3 cars are slower then GT2 cars, its clear that the car makers like these rules.

It would be super entertaining, for sure. The prototype situation is a bit uncertain, sometimes teams run, sometimes they don't. You just know that there would be a lot of interest in a GT3 class in LMS.

Eurosport and schudules mean nothing. Almost everything about there coverage was terrible.

Firstly it was never on when the epg said it would.

There was no live begining or end

the commentary team was the worst possible

and so on

right on to the series itself. The diesels are still to fast. There are two problems here, the first being Peugeot and Audi are spending (who knows) i'd guess 5 times more than even Aston Martin did. The second problem is still the rules. They pegged back the diesels but slowed the astons too.

Gt2 however is brilliant.

As for gt1 that's pants, time to go bye bye

however I don't think gt3 is the future either. Gt3 is too expensive and dosent run to a set of rules more a loose set of handshakes.

Gt3 needs a rule book before it could be considered.

I agree with your assessment about the diesel v power situation. It just happens that Audi and Peuugeot have the most money, so any air restrictor cut is negated by both teams just finding more BHP, having more efficient aerodynamics bringing more straight line speed, better stability in corners etc.

I reckon if Porsche were to come back to LMP1 as a fully fledged entry with a petrol car, it would be able to kick the s*** out of the diesels. Its just about who spends the most money. Lets see what Aston come out with next year, hopefully the cars V12 will be able to beat or at least match these diesels. The two main teams are creating a two horse race though at the moment, nobody else has a hope in hell in matching them.

This is why I like GT2, its ultra competitive.

It's no just about money. Drayson with pirro driving was mega fast and that's a customer car.

I await to see what Aston introduce next year as their LMP1 car, with Prodrive making it with Middle Eastern money, and because it will be their own design from the start - it should be quite something.

So do think if GT3 had a rule book it would be better? what would you have as the rules

I do think GT1 is over...
