It's better than struggling with the live stream, which can be dire at times.

There is a worrying lack of news on the GT2 entries though. I hope they haven't all gone to LMS Question

Sometimes it can be a right pain but the GT3 wasn't at all i don't think many watched that stream.

with stephane at the helm gt1 could be anywhere.

In the last 5 years it's been

Player
Bravo 2
Men and Motors
Setanta
Motors TV
Sky Sports

The mans a moron.

The races have gone from 4 hours to 3 hours to 2 hours to 1 hour, what next a half hour race with a driver change.

I love the fact that races will be one hour, I don't know much about Retel to comment on him. But, many sportscar series around the world tent to focus on longer races. So their is a gap in the market for a world series with sprint style races that make sportscar racing more accessible for non diehard fans.

Had a email from motors today

Quote :
Motors TV will re-affirm its commitment to top-class sportscar and GT racing this season by screening the FIA GT3 European Championship LIVE.

The ‘High Speed Television’ channel, which already shows in-depth highlights of many of Europe’s best domestic GT racing series, will continue to bring viewers the very finest coverage of the discipline by screening all 12 races from the high-profile six-round series LIVE or delayed-as-live.

FIA GT3 European Championship – Round 1, Silverstone:
Race 1 – Saturday 1 May at 1.45pm.
Race 2 – Sunday 2 May at 12pm.

there isn't a Market, sportscars don't have a casual Market and unless it's on BBC 1 on a Saturday afternoon it's not going to find one. Leaving hardcore fans who coundn't give a toss about such a short race.

To make the point further, retal took over belcar in belgium. So few people bother with it they dumped retal to go back to the long races.

Another point, a one hour race with two pro drivers is stupid any half decent pro driver can do an hour

Gt open gets away with one hour races because it's a level 3 series (support race / just above national championship)

Well if you wanted to attract casual viewers, you have to start somewhere don't you? Big time TV contracts won't just suddenly appear, although I do understand your point - and you very well might be right. But I do think that this has a more friendly format, endurance is for diehards only, but with this hour format - their is more potential to attract a wider audience.

Personally i prefer the short races but 1 hour is a step too far

I like the GT3 series. It was good last year Audi winning the drivers Title with Mies and Haase.

However 1 hour races are just stupid wider audience or not come on. The Shortest ALMS is 1hour 40minutes so i think the format before at 2hours is better.
