Interesting, I wonder if itís allowed or not.

There is a Seasonal Time Trial this week around La Sarthe, 700 pp limit. The GT-One appears to set blistering times, even against more powerful cars.

Le mans isn't a power track any more, getting through the Porsche curves is the key to a fast lap.

All configurations of Motegi have been added to GT5. Iím finding myself really liking the Motegi oval. Itís a 1.5 mile oval, but virtually flat in the turns. Racing the NASCARís on it is really fun.

Iím not a huge fan of the full road course, tbh. Most of the corners are pretty boring, consisting mostly of hairpins and straights. No flow or variety of Suzuka.

The motegi road course is very dull. Just 2 fun corners. But compared to nogaro for 4 hours it's wonderful

DLC update for GT5 will include three new cars, out on Sep 25:

Nissan GT-R N24 GT Academy í12
Subaru BR-Z S í12
Honda Weider HSV-010 (SUPER GT) í11

The Honda interests me the most, followed by the Nurburgring GT-R. Not interested in the Subaru BRZ, itís silly to have three versions of the same car. PD could have introduced a genuinely new car for that.

Unlike other updates, you can chose which cars are you want, as opposed to a handful of cars only being offered as one bundle.

I've spent most of the past week playing gt5 from the start and to be honest I've enjoyed it but at every turn it reminds me just how much better forza is. Forza has its problems but it that I want to play.

actually to add to that, Gran Turismo 5 looks terrible compared to forza 4.

In car terms Forza looks like a 458 italia and Gran Turismo looks like an AMC Pacer.

I beg to differ. Cars on Forza feel child-like and false. No computer game is going to give you the feel of a real vehicle, all one can hope for is realistic physics, reactions and noises. Forza beats GT hands down for realistic noises, but cars on Forza just donít react in a realistic way or handle anything like I would expect them to.

I left GT5 alone for a long time, but I really like it at the moment. The online play has totally enhanced the game (something Iíve only recently joined), it is tremendous fun to race in lobby rooms.

Gran Turismo has lots of faults; the obsession with useless Japanese cars, the lack of new cars via online updates, slow load up menus, occasionally strange wet weather settings Ė I could go on. However, for all its faults, it gets the fundamentals right. GT5 went in the right direction with more European cars, plus most cars just feel more right, and handle with reasonable realism for a computer game.

As far as console racing games go (the only games Iíve played), Forza feels like a cheap imitation of Gran Turismo. Yes, Forza has vastly better sounding cars and adds new cars quicker, but these games are about driving Ė and the driving on Forza sucks compared to GT, Iím afraid.

Gran Turismo just added the new Corvette C7 to GT5, and jolly good it is.
