6 hours is the limit for me, anything more and it gets snoozy. I love driving, but driving the same car around the same track for a longer period gets tedious.

Good thing they added the mid-race save feature. No way I could've done the Le Mans 24hrs in one hit. crashing

i agree. i do an hour at time on GTR2, save it then come back the next day or late on in the day but with GT5 and its not a criticism to it but the first 2 race are really endurance races but on GT5 they kind of feel like they are....its weird confused

do the gt5 updates cost anything, I know the dlc will but do the game updates?

My current console pecking order:
Forza 3
Gran Turismo 5
Forza 2
Gran Turismo 4
I assume Shift 2 would go here if I had it

haven't signed up to psn, but it is updating. 13 updates in total, the first being 608 mb, it's been going for about 2 hours and is only just half way through. Damn talk talk.

I had a similar experience to you; I wasn’t connected until late last year so I missed a lot of updates. The updates fix and improve subtle issues that make the game more intuitive if you haven’t experienced them before.

Traditionally computer games had a very short life span for me, except for GTA. The ability to add and improve content extends the life of a game and the free updates improve value for money.

The DLC's worth getting are the Track Pack for Spa and the last update which included some brilliant cars.

i hope they bring out a daytona 24hr race they probably will not but seem senseable, track is good perfect for a 24hr race on GT5.

Make it 9 hours and I'd definitely do that. The worst endurance race on GT5 is the 9 hours of Tsukuba, who the hell relishes driving around that track for that long?

I'd like to see a shorter enduro around Spa.

I don't mind it, but I need a track to be outstanding to drive for long distance. Tsukuba just isn't.

while channel hoping the other name, someone said the seven wonders of (I think) the natural world. Pointless obviously but what about the seven wonders of the motorsport world, but break it down into small sections. It got me thinking about race tracks

i don't mind Tsukuba. not the most interesting tracks but 9hours is far to much. needs to be longer track, i think daytona would be perfect for 24hours on GT5 track is perfect got prototypes. don't see why not!?

In no order; Massenet from Monaco, Porsche Curves from La Sarthe, the Bridge section from Singapore, Eau-Rouge and Pouhon from Spa, and the Hairpin from Montreal. Cannot think of any other good sections of track right now.

No idea how the circuit would flow, but would love these corners and sections to be included.

I was think more circuits in general (the whole thing)

but I'm happy to go with both atm.

there is a track for gtr2 called mixta. The first part is from Imola 94 but them you right into the esses from suzuka, from there it goes into the stadium section from hockenheim and from there to la source and eau rouge from spa, finally you come out of eau rouge straight into ascari from monza and down to the parabolica.

On the Nordschleife, there are two corners that always feel a little unnerving. They are consecutive corners, and the first one can be taken flat out but has a nasty bump in the middle, with a good handling car the corner feels worrying – in a loose handling car it feels scary. Then, the second corner is very fast but with virtually no run off. You can hop the kerb to get around the corner, but be too aggressive and you’ll end up in the barriers.

All of the Nordschleife is demanding, but in particular those corners.

That track on GTR2 sounds nice, the Parabolica at Monza is a favourite of mine.

How far intro the lap is it?

I would guess it'll be between wipplemann and Brunnchen. That got a lot of very fast, very fun and very scary. But it could be almost anywhere on the lap.

Its early into the lap, cerca. They are two left hand turns, its hard to describe where they are. After the twisty first section, there is a flat out section, then a fast left hander leading into a right hander with gravel. These daunting corners are after that.

The section after the first banked corner is glorious.

i know where you mean, it's Schwedenkreuz

it's a great corner, then there's a tight right and then you dive downhill into the foxhole. Great bit of track.

I think you've got it. Also, the first banked corner on the final section of the track leads onto a superb section, I can really a push a car and get away with it. On other sections, I'm just looking to survive. A scary race track is brilliant.

I tried the Nordschleife in the Zonda R a while ago to see if I could get near the 6:47 set by the car in real life. Must have taken a good 40 or so attempts to get just 1 clean lap.

Every time I would get further on the track, only to start over again after misjudging a corner, or running wide on a fast section and hitting a barrier, or if I ran over a kerb too much the game would 'red' my time etc. crashing

Think I managed a 6:20 in the end.

My best lap in the Zonda R is a 6.15, 15 second's off what i was aiming for (Was trying to beat Lorenzo's time that he put on Twitter) Neutral Everytime i was on a quicker lap, i'd balls it up so i gave up in the end Laughing

Not sure how this person has done this, but they’ve managed to incorporate Formula One TV icons to Gran Turismo 5:

That’s brilliant, I’d love safety car periods on GT5.
