The amount of things the game is staggering, I wouldn't be surprised if the game was delayed again.

Did anybody see the trailer? At the end, Adrian Newey and Sebastian Vettel are featured - I hope that means the latest Red Bull F1 car is in the game.

Good point, GT5 Prologue featured a Ferrari F1 car in it - which suggests that the main GT5 will have it. Obviously, the official F1 game will have the Ferrari too.

I know i've slagged Gran Turismo off alot but I think I will buy this when it does finally come out. It's either that or use that stupid kinect thing for the 360 where you pretend your hands are steering wheel. Wheres the force feedback?, Wheres the rumble from hitting the kerbs?.

i shall use my ps3 Move controllers to play GT5 Smile

i shall use my Kinect got Forza-3 Smile

god they will be rubbish for racing games !

best controller was the Namco NeGcon for racing games, i really think there will be problems with the ps3 pad, i really don't like the feel of the triggers, the 360 pad is far better as the triggers have more movement.

I might get a Logitech steering wheel for GT5, it will be a game that I'll play for years. Clearly Sony are trying to copy the Wii with this motion controller, but it doesn't seem suited to every time of game - like driving games. It seems suitable for shooting games.

Another thing I have just learned about this game. You get to where a headset- possibly with the 3D mode. But it picks up your head movements so you can look around in the car or look at the apex of the corner and it will show where your head is pointing at on screen.

Nice little addition I would like to see in all racing games. Instead of using the controller to look around.

Looks like Sony aren't just happy with the general release of GT5. Rolling Eyes There's now gonna be a Signature Edition of the game, which has:
  • Sculpted metal box, finished in SLS AMG Obsidian Black paint.
  • Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG 1:43 model car
  • Leather GT-branded wallet with competition entry card (see below)
  • GT-branded USB key with a special GT5 trailer
  • GT-branded key fob
  • Coffee table book featuring the cars and locations of GT5
  • In depth 200-page+ Apex book with driving and tuning tips, discussion of future technologies, and more
  • Voucher for 5 unique “Chrome Line” edition cars (see below).

The “competition entry card” provided with the wallet grants you access to a special competition where you can win a real Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. The Signature Edition won't be available in the US, Canada, or even Japan, but will be in UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Greece, Czech Republic, Russia, Poland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, UAE and Saudi Arabia.

There's also a less-expensive Collector's Edition, with:
  • A commemorative “slip case”
  • Voucher for 5 unique “Chrome Line” edition cars (see below)
  • 5 collectable “art cards”
  • In depth 200-page+ Apex book with driving and tuning tips, discussion of future technologies, and more.

The five “Chrome Line” cars will be available as DLC in all special editions of GT5, including the United States:

Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro Chrome Line Edition
BMW M3 Coupe Chrome Line Edition
Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 Chrome Line Edition
Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Coupe Chrome Line Edition
Shelby Cobra 427 Chrome Line Edition

Now some of you may have read that last part and thought "Hang on. There's already a Collector's Edition coming. Why have they announced it again?" That's because the one above is for Europe. There was another Collector's Edition that was announced for the US a few months ago, and this is what's included:
  • Exclusive limited edition 1:43 scale diecast 2009 Nissan GT-R Spec V with custom Gran Turismo livery designed by Polyphony Digital, produced by Kyosho
  • In depth 200-page+ Apex book with driving and tuning tips, discussion of future technologies, and more
  • Custom etched Gran Turismo key chain
  • Voucher for 5 exclusive high-end cars with custom Gran Turismo livery and performance upgrades (the "Chrome Line" cars).

So come November, we'll have:

Gran Turismo 5
Gran Turismo 5 Collector's Edition (Europe)
Gran Turismo 5 Collector's Edition (USA)
Gran Turismo 5 Signature Edition

Talk about pushing the boat out. affraid

Fantastic, why not milk as much money out of certain fans as you can? I would do exactly the same thing to make the maxamium sales and profit.

Personally though, I have no interest in such a package. I don't want most of the other stuff that comes with the Signature Edition. I want the game and that is it.

i have ordered the collectors edition & the signature edition, it's a lot of cash i know, but i love my GTA collectors editions, the Fable 3 & Halo Reach ones i also have, they are only £10-15 more, i would deffo get GT5-sig if it was £100, £150 is a little to much extra free DLC cars would be the lock in though like you get on Forza-3 CE when a new car pack is released i get one, two or three of them (depends on how many are in the pack) for free as a gift, they are in special colors & i have payed for the DLC but i don't have to use game money to buy the cars, as they find any cash cheats & remove them Sad

Glad am not a postie lol! Can you imagine all those pre-ordered editions. Don't know about you lot, but that certainly won't fit through my letterbox.

I want that GTR rather then the Merc. The book sounds like a decent read as well, But as Sav says. It's all about the game.

Just been thinking about the US Collector's Edition a bit more. If it's an NTSC (America) game, will it be OK to play on a PAL (Europe) PS3?

If so, does your TV need to be NTSC compatible to accept it?

No CJ, Europe PS3's play any games no matter what regions they are from. My copy of NASCAR 09 is NTSC and it works fine, before buying I researched this and found that all region games can be played. Which wasn't the case with PS2.

I wouldn't mind having the diecasts that come with the Signature edition, but apart from that, the rest is useless for me.

Cool. Very Happy

So does the TV need to be NTSC compatible to 'accept' the game, or would it be OK through an HDMI cable?

Its fine through a HDMI cable, mine is a PS3 cable but I suspect it will work with any HDMI cable. From the word go, NASCAR 09 instantly worked like any PAL game.

I only ask because the last thing I need is for the game to be shipped from the US, only for me to start it up and get some sort of error message saying I can't play it. Angry
