Ricard to host eight-hour LMS race
Quote :
The Le Mans Series has confirmed that its 2010 season will kick off with an eight-hour race at Paul Ricard, as revealed by this week's AUTOSPORT magazine.

The new calendar also sees the championship make its Hungaroring debut. The Hungarian Grand Prix venue will host an evening race in mid-August, while the preceding round at Portimao will also finish in darkness again. Ricard and the Hungaroring replace Catalunya and the Nurburgring on the schedule.....http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/80449

I think its good calendar ten

I'm going to Silverstone, just to see the BMW M3 GT2's in action. If anybody hasn't heard that car, you'll be amazed at how loud it is.

Its an odd schedule. Paul Ricard is a pretty boring track, and 8 hours. Hmm, that'll be one hell of a boring race. I'd have even preferred the Barcelona track, Paul Ricard is a great testing facility, but for racing. No. I like the addition of the Hungaroring, GT2 will be superb around there. But, prototypes are going to have a hard time of overtaking, they do have a lot of downforce and create a lot of turbulence. Its really a GT track, not a prototype track. Still, over six hours, the traffic will be interesting!

No Nurburgring? Hmm, not exactly a great track, so no great loss. But, Germany is one of the biggest markets for motorsport. Hockenheim would have been ideal.

Next year will be great with the BMW's, the only reason to watch. The other reason I'm going to Silverstone, is because barley anybody attends. So its perfect for autographs (I wonder which other person has that idea Laughing ). I like autograph hunting these days.

I hope there is better tv coverage this year but Radio le mans is always on hand Very Happy

I think Paul Ricard is looking track compare to Barcelona on the whole.

BMW announces that its GT2 will be at 24hour classics 24-hour race at the Nürburgring Le Mans 24 and Spa-Francorchamps 24

they haven't got full aco or fia gt homologation for the gt2 yet, but they want to those races. Some one high up in bmw thinks racing the cvar you sell, sells cars and that f1 didn't or this woundn't be happening. I like this very much.

Lol m8, its fun at events that are not so vast in size, like at MB World. But I should imagine that the paddock at Silverstone for LMS will be most pleasent, because of the lack of crowd. In 2008, the paddock was quite empty and it was quite easy to access drivers. And paddock passes are included anyway. I wouldn't want to do autograph hunting at Goodwood FOS though, far too busy.

I'm just going for BMW, I love those M3's. Cool

Sounds good m8, hopefully they don't offer free tickets then. Less people, more autographs lol.

I want to get by Porsche GT1 signed by Mcnish, I hope Audi enter the Silverstone event. Sad

Well I guess they are trying to make sure they don't make the same mistake as last season when they turned up to Le Mans having done no testing at all. I reckon there will be 2 cars there tbh.
