Andy Jordan and Alex McDowell both tested for Motorbase at Brands

http://www.touringcartimes.com/news.php?id=4203

guess Jordan still has Pirtek backing, and maybe John Guest as well, should be enough to find him a seat somewhere if thats true.

I'd like to see Jordan in that team, he was quite good this year.

Yep that backing is behind both him and his dad, so he should get a decent seat.

Well that coincides with the rest of there promotional activities too, I don't see as many Airwaves adverts as I used to. Still, Motorbase appear to have there budget secured for 2010 beecause they are already starting to evaluate drivers for next season.

Their Called Forster Motorsport and are baised in Newcastle so guess which team I will be supporting this coming season, Along with the Vaulkhard support again.

Its going to be a spec engine: http://www.touringcartimes.com/news.php?id=4254

I think these rules will be good for BTCC. The BTCC isn't known for technial progression, its known for epic racing, and that is what these rules should provide.

a stock engine isn't good for racing.

Going to be interessting with the Turbo Vectra that Andrew Jordan will be running, just feel its a case of well we've had Turbo Diesel lets have a go at useing Turbo Petrol engines, in a way it'll be a shame cos all we'll probs here is the sound of the Turbo and not the sound of a great racing engine like you get with a N/A engine

Agreed, there is nothing like an NA screamer. The 320Si, for example sounds genuinely great as the revs rise to over 8,000 rpm. I can only imagine, that the more eco-weeney, turbo petrols will just sound dull and make a faint whistling noise - in typical turbo fashion.

Pinkney goes turbo Vectra route as well

http://www.btcc.net/html/generalnews_detail.php?id=1779&month=0&year=2008&form=&searchterm=

Although unless the turbo's have an advantage i can't see him winning a race like he claims he can do (unless all the others have been crashed into by Plato!!) affraid

In theory, the turbocharged petrols should have an advantage at some tracks. The turbo itself will probably weigh very little, and it will have a lot more torque then the NA cars, which will help it up the hills and acceleration out of corners. But with none of the weight or rev limitations (depending on what the max revs are). But it'll be over 4,000 rpm, the diesels rev limit, for sure.

it's the boost pressure that will be restricted most and then revs as the diesels are now. But Seat have a varible boost at soom tracks there allowed to run more than the 2.5 bar laid out in the rules.

Good to see, he is one of those drivers that is overlooked. But when given a decent drive, he thrives.

Good news, I've wanted new cars in BTCC for some years. I often get bored of the usual Leon's and Integra's, although, petrol hatchback's aren't usually very successful in BTCC are they? Still, I look foward to have the MK5 Golf in the BTCC.
