PostSubject: GP2 Asia soon   Tue Oct 20, 2009 8:11 am

Not sure if anybody has realised, but GP2 Asia is returning on the F1 finale in Abu Dubai. However, the schedule will entirely consist of Abu Dubai and Bahrain - as shown here:
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/79055

Whilst that sounds very dull, we have to remember that the teams will be using the older spec GP2 car with less downforce, which was always more entertaining to watch. And GP2 is always great around Bahrain, so should be at Abu Dubai too. Sam Bird will be driving for ART: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/79507

Valsecchi for I Sport: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/79621

Well, itssome winter motorsport!

Valsecchi on pole in Abu Dhabi: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/79851

Great job by Sam Bird too, looking foward to see the old-spec GP2 cars back in action, which are sure to produce excellent racing.

Yeah, the GP2 car seems to have brought out the best in Sam Bird, hope he has a good weekend.

Not a bad race, those two straights created a lot of excitement. I loved that fake safety car period, some marshals could have easily collected the wing when so cars were near by, but the SC period closed up the pack nicely.

Porsche Supercup race was a bit messy. Razz

Both races were entertaining, Sam Bird was unlucky, Valsecchi showed plenty of experience, but some of the newcomers were promising.

Brilliant stuff, I know Friday's coverage is live, but is Saturday's live too? If so, that is impressive - Eurosport don't usually show both GP2 Asia races on a non F1 weekend.

I almost forget about GP2 Asia, the break has been far, far too long. As a winter series, having rounds in January is what I want. But still, looking foward to Abu Dhabi.

Excellent, looking foward to both races. It'll be a warm up for Saturday qualifying in Bahrain for F1. Razz

Another Eurosport cock up, just so amatuerish. They put eurocrash on, missed the start, when they threw to Martin and Gareth safety car was out, when they try to show why it was out, the race restarted and we never saw it.

Good race tho, 2 brits in the points in both races

Yes it was ridiculous, Plus how many breaks did they take. Is this a sign of things to come from Eurosport?
