Just to ask, for the F1 car do we want the current World Champion (let me guess what Neal says! Laughing ), a Red Bull, a Mercedes, a Renault or any of the other cars?

You decide, we'll get the picture. It does help that the picture choice is not limited to side profile pictures now!

As a personal preference, could we have a picture of Kyle Busch's M & M's NASCAR Toyota?

i think (and i relize this might not happen) rather than adding an f1 car and a nascar. Have a nascar banner (for a month) with a cureent cot, perhaps a earnhart snr car and cale yarborough car, etc
Same for f1, ahve a cureent car and a Graham Hill car and a Gillies Villenuve car for example.

just a though anyway.

going to be merging threads & areas over the next week or so to make the forum more streamlined, nothing will be deleted but moved about, if you are on here when things are being moved around, weird things may happen & there may be some errors, but just refresh & everything should be ok Smile

as members may have noticed, the site is having a bit of a tidy up, merging threads & areas to hopefully get a few more people posting & so that some of the empty areas are not so noticeable.

the Forum Awards area stands a high chance of being deleted Sad i think it was a good idea at the time, but there really isn't the time to run it correctly, some of the threads will be moved into the "All Other Racing" sub forum the rest will be deleted.

the Auto Pruner will also more than likely be turned on for a month or so, not sure yet though.

also can members please be aware of the sizes for Signatures please, some of them are way over size, there is a guide in the Rules section, it is for the benefit of other members & also cuts down on loading times, there will be a week amnesty on this, after then signatures that are deemed to break the rules, will be removed.

I wouldn't like to definitively speculate on why there are fewer postings compared to on Motors TV and in the past. But, I suppose when social media sites allows one to talk about anything to their friends in one place - that may seem pretty appealing.

I think forums like this are different though as it is a pure motorsport discussion site, meaning more in-depth discussions can be had. Sure, there are motorsport pages on Facebook for example, but if they are open groups than communicating with hundreds of other people isn't much fun. As ever, I always appreciate the posting that forum members do here.

I quite like Facebook as it has its own purposes; general chat and messing about.

just like to draw members attention to the size of signatures, some of them now are getting way to big Suspect

information on the size of signature allowed is here > http://racing.forumotion.co.uk/t1758-the-forum-rules this size also includes any additional text !

i would rather have members modify their signatures themselves, to save a Admin from removing them.

one reason for this is increasingly people are using phones to access the site & some of the signatures take up the whole screen on a laptop, this also leads to using more bandwidth for the user.

if you are not technically skilled with image manipulation just post a thread & somebody will help you out & make/design one for you Smile

Image Shack as a facility to alter the size of photo's, so that shouldn't be a problem.

yeah, but if someone wants a few things in images & text etc it can all be done in say photoshop.

as the reasons i have mentioned above they are causing problems, i visit on my mobile & ipod which is the worst the laptop/pc isn't to bad i don't suppose, i just do not see the need for signatures to be so big they fill up the whole screen Shocked
