They are gonna have to raise their game if they want to avoid a repeat of what happened at Le Mans imo.

Audi to join Peugeot in Petit Le Mans

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/77984

Quote :
Allan McNish and Rinaldo Capello, and Lucas Luhr and Marco Werner sharing the two cars.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad there entering. I think Audi car is more suited to ALMS tracks.

I think Audi will be ready its been awhile since le mans and Audi smell blood.

Quote :
Audi's motorsport boss Dr Wolfgang Ullrich says the marque is using the event to begin its programme for Le Mans in 2010.

"The race at Road Atlanta marks the first part of our preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2010," Ullrich said.

"We want to use it as an opportunity for our engineers to learn even more about the new Audi R15 TDI in direct competition with strong rivals. A lot of things can be simulated on test rigs and in track tests. But nothing can replace the experience gathered in actual racing events."

Have Audi learn there lesson....i think so Come on Audi.

Well that took a long time, I see they are scared. They thought that they were so great that doing Sebring and Le Mans was enough. lol!

It does improve Petit Le Mans and ALMS though, P1 has been crap in ALMS this year. So Audi's and Peugeot's participation should liven up the class. This for me is a fantastic race, probably on par with Le Mans itself for entertainment. Acura had better start improving their car if they don't want to get thrashed.

Didn't Audi only budget for Sebring and Le Mans...But Don Panoz and scott atherton personally went to Germany and see all The "Big dogs at Audi" I think Audi will be racing at some events next year.

Audi has other thoughts on there mind. Aswell as a test program, Audi has a New A3 TDI 2.0 heading to Dealerships in Fall.

Quote :
At the same time, Audi Sport will support the market launch of TDI technology in North America by participating in the popular "Petit Le Mans" race. The Audi Q7 TDI 3.0 has been available in the USA since the beginning of the year and the Audi A3 TDI 2.0 will arrive at U.S. dealerships in fall.

Sadly, Audi confirmed many months ago that an R8 V12 TDI will not go into production because there was not enough demand and production costs were too high.

What this is further backed up by, is that Audi chose to launch the R8 with a V10 petrol alongside the V8-powered R8 this year - but they had the opportunity to launch an R8 TDI. Phew. Wink

The R8 GT3 car is ace. ten

The problem with supercars, is that customers want glamour and noise at that price. People who buy supercars do not buy them to save money, and that is really the main reason for buying diesel. Its why Ferrari and Lamborghini do not produce diesel cars, because the sensational noise they make is an important part of a supercar.

Audi R8 GT3 brilliant and i think it will be into a GT2 car it clearly got what takes to race with top people in GT2

Off Topic question...What about Aston Martin they must bring aleast one car to Petit Le mans, If they do bring on one i think it will Be Stefan Mucke, Tomas Enge and Darren Turner in the car.

Aston-Martin will just be like Acura though, they will get slaughtered by the diesel P1 cars. The gap is so large between P1 petrol and diesel cars its like the difference between P1 and P2 cars.

the gap will be smaller again next year.

the true difference is budget, the factory audi's and puegoet's have a massive amount of aero work done on them and thats the real difference.

I really do hope that the P1 class does close up a little in terms of laptime this year, at least then it would be more of a level playing field.

I swear that I read that Aston were going to Petit with three cars, about a month ago...

I think i saw the same thing. Aston martin have to it would be..crazy for them to miss it. Help them with car battling all the top teams.

They should aleast 2 but 1 would do due to cost.

Who they don't need in the car is ramos...Even though he put a bit of coin towards one of the car.

I don't think they would be crazy to miss it, because ultimately the petrol cars have no chance. But I did read David Richards stating that Aston-Martin would be going.

I think it be tough for them but I think ALMS people would like them to come. I would like them to go it make 2009 DVD very good to watch.

I think they should bring 2 cars to the event be a great battle with Test before the event.
