Both races are live too. I am so glad that we will be able to see GP2 now that stupid good for nothing Pisentanta has gone up the shitter - their failure is a good result for British motorsprt fans.

Its good to see Hulkenberg competitive in GP2. He was always very good in Euro F3. GP2 is allowed by Porsche Supercup too.

Yep Hulkenberg has impressed so far in his career and I'm sure a move to F1 is imminent. People have talked about him as the new Schumacher and that is lofty boots to feel, but I'm sure he can make a decent impact in the sport.

Patrick head didnt seem quite so impressed after he crashed the Williams a few times in testing. He is still young and inexperienced though.

Wow that was dull, I hope the F1 is better. You can't fault much of the driving but the racing was bad.

Partially correct, Rees went on holiday to the Nurburgring. Wink

I agree with Duckman, and who can disagree? That was a real snooze-fest with barley any overtaking. For a junior open wheel series that was quite poor. Their was a 'battle' between Rodriguez and Di Grassi for a while, but apart from that - dire. I'm not sure what happened to Di Grassi, to go from second to eighth is rather strange.

Hulkenberg was just supreme, an utterly faultless drive from the German. Personally he is far more impressive than Grosjean, who in my opinion is overrated. I don't see why a lot of people regard Grosjean so highly, okay so he had bad luck today, but usually his race pace is dire and his race craft is a bit dire. Of course its easy for me to say that, but their are a lot of better drivers out there in my opinion. I don't see what Grosjean could do at Renault what Piquet Jr cannot do - they are both at the same level really.

Get Davidson in that Renault seat, he is a much better driver than both.

I find these GP2 cars odd. There were close bunches of cars, but when ever a driver got in his rival's slipstream - they didn't gain much of a toe at all. The only consolation is that the sprint races on Sunday morning tend to be more action packed.

Sad

The mk2 GP2 car hasnt worked out as well as the mk1 version for us fans, all the aero updates etc just made it harder to follow and overtake. There's not much difference in racing between GP2 and F Renault 3.5 at the moment. Arent both series' chassis Dallara btw???

Well todays damp race was superb! But why oh why was Petrov given a drive through penalty for getting close with Di Grassi at the start? And they decided to announce it 13 laps into the race, just so the stewards can mess up his race to the maximum. Rolling Eyes

Perhaps I need to change my opinion on Grosjean, that was a great drive from 17th. Although in the wet, there are certainly bigger opportunities.

I think the lack of racing yesterday was actually due to the track. The Nurburgring is very much a one line track, the banked corners to not encourage racing at all and there are too many twists and turns and not enough long straights with heavy braking zones to see brilliant racing. This is why Hockenheim is better, it maybe boring, but at least it does have long straights and big braking zones. The racing at Barcelona was sensational, and that is regarded it be ZZZZZZZZZ.

Yes race 2 was great, just a shame Petrov got that stupid penalty. They might aswell send them out one at a time to record a race time if they don't want things like that to happen.

Martin's Haven's take on this: http://martinhaven.wordpress.com/

I couldn't agree more with the part about permanent stewards.
