TO continue this a little bit, the series will be shown in october.

Last Sunday James May and the BBC were at Phoenix Slot Car Club, it's where I race (maybe Did race).

I had no idea it was last sunday, although the rest of the club knew...

I've seen about it too, and would like to have gone anyway, but with all the full sized racing events to attend August/September i can't really afford a trip to Brooklands as well Sad

On to a slightly different but similar event, in 12 days I will run in my first 12 hour race for slot cars.

I have to admit i'm concerned most races are 5 minutes and 2 hour stints i'm a bit weary of. But slightly bigger than that i'm racing in class higher than my ability and letting the side down is a serious possiblity.

I know this is an old thread, but just watched this episode on replay as i missed it first time around.

What an amazing feat! Totally loved that episode. it is such as shame to see what they have done to British Motorsports first piece of history. Some good old footage of the circuit too which was great.

Could not believe that Bugatti Type 35 was worth approx 3000 affraid affraid I could buy a 1/8th scale Amaglam for that lol!

A good way to bring the community together as well. It was good to see that the Brooklands Community won the race too, especially after the scalextric bigwigs were bigging themselves up. Smile

Fantastic ten

It was a great episode and was great to have them onboard cameras lol!

Such a shame to see a circuit lost, I know it wouldn't hold races this day and age but it would of been nice to keep it restored as much as possible.

I was at that Sony centre back in April and I recognised one of the guys off the programme, as we had 6 hour meeting with him.

What I couldn't believe was few of the community team getting to drive round in a Mercedes at that Mercedes. One of them had just passed her test a week earlier and here she was driving a 400bhp?(Am sure Sav will correct me Laughing ) Merc.

That is quite a step up from a normal learner car like a Citreon C2 or Fiesta lol!

Ah yes, 457 bhp to be precise - in the C63 AMG. It is an odd step up, but I wouldn't mind having a go! Most powerful car I've driven had 265 bhp, so I'm not too far off. Laughing
