What a fantastic race, its by far the best sportscar race by some margin, and the best race in the world. So much drama, accidents and overtaking. Superb.

Well done to Peugeot, the deserving constructor won. Audi have probably been too cocky, thinking that because they won at Sebring, they did not need to participate in any last minute races like Spa or Lime Rock, it cost them dear. Whenever Audi are previously come to Le Mans, they have been so prepared with so much LMS/ALMS data – for me this was Audi’s mistake. Peugeot had good strategy, kept cool and had a much faster car.

I am really pleased for Brabbham, he really deserved it. Well done to Risi, they really did thrash the opposition in GT2.

As for the forum, well over the 24 hours, these threads have just proved what a great forum racingforumotion.co.uk is. Its been lively, friendly, humorous, informative and intelligent discussion. We have had 1664 posts in total, and a staggering 5535 views – both threads in total. For a small forum like ours, this is fantastic.

I hope all of our members who attended the race had a great time (well I know 24 has, I’ve been texting him). I hope you all have a safe journey back.

I would like to thank all members who posted in the Le Mans threads, the friendly nature was superb and I really enjoyed it. Without you guys it would not be possible, roll on 2010!

p.s at least the tarted up VW's didn't win. Wink Laughing

10th? Thought I posted more than that? Suspect

(Then again I was watching the race with only my iphone handy to post. Would've been impractical otherwise using my PC and keep running up and down the stairs everytime something happened)

I remember dial-up too, it was amazingly bad compared to broadband is now, but I suppose as technology becomes more mainstream, it comes cheaper and therefore more in reach of the general public. I a glad you enjoyed yourself Chris. Smile

Well what a weekend!!

I have not looked through this lot yet, but i will have to sometime.

All was good at the circuit, we arrived at about 15:30 on Wednesday and it was pis very wet. So putting the tent up was not much fun!

But from Thursday onwards GLORIOUS WEATHER ALL ROUND!! Got to the circuit on Thursday and learnt that we missed out on some Paddock Passes for the race by 10 minutes Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad We did however gain some hospitality with Team Modena so not to bad. It is amazing how much interest there is in a flag that has the teams name on it.

Managed to gain a good few autographs over the weekend, slightly dissapointed with one driver though. Hopefully he will redeem his self over the Goodwood Weekend.

Some very meaty accidents over the weekend and i am very glad no-one was seriously injured. I cannot believe Karthikeyan Dislocated his shoulder and could not race.

A damn good result IMO. So glad for Brabham to finally get that monkey off of his back.

Yep I couldn't believe what Narain did, I bet he couldn't believe his luck at the time and he is still probably thinking about it now too, but I'm sure he will have another chance.

As Mark has already said the weather was absolutely awesome throughout the whole weekend, I looked at the famous clock at 1am during the race and the temperature was 21 degrees Shocked

I was amazed at the amount of action in the early stages of the race, I wondered if some of the teams had forgotten that the race was 24 hours and not a 2 hour race. TBH I thought Peugeot were going to blow it again after the incident in the pits with the Pesca but they had the quickest car in the race and it was obvious from an early stage that they were going have to have major trouble in order to deny them victory. It was a real shame for the Drayson car that they retired so late in the race, they were having a great run and fullt deserved a finish imo.

Got some good autographs during the driver's parade, including Neel Jani, Vanina Ickx and the complete JetAlliance team. Although some of the French around me during the parade were a right pain in the arse! Also it seemed that some of the French haven't discovered anti-perspirant either!

So I managed to correctly predict the race winner, but got sod all else right by the looks of it!

I'll post some photos from the weekend in the pics thread later in the week.

You didn't manage to get one of the Pescarolo accident early on Sunday morning by any chance did you?

Could make yourself rich... the first images of the impact itself... Press Association will be lining up to pay you loads for the "exclusive shots of what actually happened"

OMG!!! You are so right there m8. We had a few up by us in the stand when they allow the Paddock Pass holders to come up. They were stood on the stairs by us, not only were they jumping around like divs but the smell was unbearable to the point that i had got some deodorant with me and wanted to spray them, but was told NO! by my other half.

But then told them to sit down or go away anyway. Funny they went after that.

Nope sorry about Sean, I was having a nap at the time and was awoken by the safety car coming round, sounded like a big shunt tbh. I also noticed that on the coverage at the circuit there was no idea of what happened to the 72 Corvette that went off at Tertre Rouge, but I was sitting there at the time and the 72 came in contact with 008, which was what broke the wheel that ended any chances of a podium finish.

Yep some of the personal hygiene was pretty poor, and the total facilities were as awful as ever. It's alright improving the circuit and the stands but how about building a few thousand more toilets? Surely it's not too much to ask.
