A1GP returns this weekend to Brands Hatch for the penultimate round of the championship.

The championship is very tight, but expect dire racing. Watch it all live on Sky Sports.

Danica should really be doing this round.

I went to A1GP last year, but A1GP is dire this season - not much point in going.

Mexico cancelled due to swine flu

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/74932

Quote :
The A1GP season will conclude at Brands Hatch this weekend after the series cancelled its Mexican round due to the swine flu crisis.

The championship had been due to end at Mexico City on May 24, but with the outbreak of the deadly virus having originated in Mexico, A1GP chairman Tony Teixeira said the UK Foreign Office had advised against making 'non-essential' journies to the country.....

Was not entirely unexpected, I guess.

I love the way that Motorsport Vision passed on the news to me, though.... talk about putting a positive spin on bad news...

Quote :
A1GP organisers have cancelled next month’s Mexico event following the recent outbreak of swine flu, meaning that Brands Hatch is your final opportunity to watch the World Cup of Motorsport in action this season.

And, for the first time ever, the title fight will be decided in the very last race of the season.

Switzerland, Ireland and Portugal are still in the hunt for the trophy, and just six points separate the trio with two races remaining.

You can still save £6 on the gate price by booking advance raceday tickets, available until midnight tonight (Wednesday).

Its not bad news for Brands Hatch on any level - they will have welcomed this news - more tickets will probably be sold because Brands will host the championship showdown.

Yep looking forward to the weekend now, we're forecast for some good weather which will no doubt bring out the punters.

All the event details, including entry lists can be found on the MSV Racing website here:-
