i don't want LMP-1's racing against LPM-2's there should be clear differences in speed etc, thats the whole point of the different classes.

So the petrol cars still have no chance of winning then?

I think they do.

The problem is, few car manufacturers will want to make a petrol prototype because they cannot gain much PR out of their Le Mans campaign.

If Porsche were to make a petrol prototype and really try hard, I am sure it would piss all over TDI and HDI.

I will repeat this again, noise is an integeral part of motorsport (you can only understand this by going to spectate an event). Audi have ruined this, I hope all there cars have turbo failures and Aston wins - amazing noise! affraid affraid affraid

I'm sure if Porsche and Penske manage to win the title in Grand-Am this season then they will be back in ALMS next season, and perhaps then we will get the chance to see them at Le Mans too!

it's more simply than that!

it's a gap year, thats all it ever was. Either penske will be back in the alms or they won't be running gt's

So why would Porsche he running in Grand-Am, if their intention is Le Mans?

I love Grand-Am though, for racing - its the best sports car series by a long way.

But how does that help? When a Le Mans car is so different?

Basically there was nothing else for the team to do this year, so race grand am, pay them to do nothing or not poay them and they roam away and next year you can't get them back

BTW p1 Oreca fastest today at spa (most of the day was wet though)
