I cannot say that is affecting me, providing you delete your cookies every now and then, the site should load without too many delays. I'm not sure if this sotware is sensitive to different types of internet programmes.

not affecting me either.

what browser are you using ?

could just be your connection.

there is a bit more on the forum now, but i wouldn't have thought we have bandwidth issues.

For me it's on and off... sometimes it takes ages to load... the picture at the top, of the cars, will appear in stages, top to bottom, despite the fact that my connection is going at about 7mbps. Other times it loads fine.

Today it took ages to load the first time... the "Home - Calendar - FAQ" bar came up about 20 seconds before either of the two graphics above or the content below.

There's definitely something wrong with Forumotion... it's not happening on other sites.

Ah, is it the home page? That happened to me, the forum's signature would not upload, however after a couple of days this went away. I will try and resolve these issues, my apologies.

It appears that some forumotion sites are experiencing blank pages. However, I have been looking for myself at other forumotion sites, like this one http://allstoxforum.niceboard.com/forum.htm And I cannot see any issues, it loads up fine.

I'm going to see what the technical people say in the support forum for this software, but some newer sites are not functioning.

Thats how mine loads, and it stays like that for about 10 seconds or so and then everything loads up fine, so i'll go and click on the F1 section and it'll load instantly, but when i want to go back to the homepage it'll come back up like that Sad scratch

ok sorry about this No

as Sav said the tech people will be contacted.

how long has it been doing it ?

they could be updating serves or doing other maintenance that could be causing it, seems strange that it just affects you two, what ISP do you use ?

if its only on the main page it could be the clocks Suspect

hmmm, i will remove them & see if it is any better.

What are the clocks meant to add?

I mean, we all know when the next race is in the series that we follow and if we're in doubt we know where to go to find out.

Be it Le Mans Series, ALMS, F1, MotoGP, World Superbikes, Superleague Formula, BTCC, WTCC, IOM TT, 24 Heures du Mans, Renault World Series, Indy Car, Formula Palmer Audi, Formula Masters etc. etc. we all keep up-to-date with these things... why do we need "countdown clocks" to remind us? We'll be reminding each other before the race happens.

Having proved that it was possible to do it I suggest that we retire these rather pointless clocks. Or create a separate page called "Countdown Clocks" with a link to it from the front page which lists ALL the possible series (if that is, indeed, possible), for those who aren't capable of keeping a note of what's on when... ???

To be honest, if you want to remind people I think some nice static text that says...

"Events in the next 7 days"

...would be FAR more useful than a countdown clock that 99% of visitors are likely to ignore, because if they're interested they know already.

Problem with Countdown Clocks is that if you log on at 9am and it says "18 days 12 hours and 15 seconds" unless you've a really bad memory when you then log on at 12pm and it says "18 days 9 hours and 15 seconds" it's telling you stuff you already know!!!

And the Javascript overhead is large... nice idea, but "so 1990s" when many internet sites were designed to impress by the technology they used rather than the useful content. Remember those mouse pointers with a trail behind them or whatever?? YUK!!

Mine seems to work ok now since the clocks have been removed. As now we know what seems to have caused it am not bothered if the clocks are returned.

I really just wanted to know if anyone else was suffering the same. To make sure it wasn't just my computer/Connection etc. I am sure I could wait a couple more seconds for the site to load. It's not that important. Laughing Laughing
