Forum catorgeries are now back.

Some small other changes have been made:

-Non-registered users can not view members amount of posts, location and registration date when viewing threads. I don't really see much difference, but hey ho. Security perhaps?

-When you click on the 'memberlist' link, the page has been slightly modernised. You can now see more info about members and their avatars - of course you need to be registered to see this updated page.

maybe, for the chat (pit-stop) area, but if none members cannot view the main areas people won't join up, however some will join up & not bother posting at all & only log in once.

see what sav says.

however i'm thinking of having a cull of people who are inactive on the site & deleting them Smile

I agree ! if people join with no intention of posting , after some cut off time they should be excluded !! ................... we all know who posts here ! and at times are too busy to post ! but will continue when free to do so

I don't think viewing all threads does much harm, after all, it gives potential members an opportunity to look at the whole forum, so not only the motorsport section, but the social side of things - the chatting forum. I'm not sure it would make much difference either way.

Could maybe give new impetus on new members by making it easier for them?

Change the 'A hello from me' thread into the 'Introduce yourself' thread or ' New members' thread.

Getting new members is a risky business I suppose. On one hand it couldbe great, But then we might get a few who decide to start abusing the rules - Of course this is when the MODS come in on Lambretta's with 2 by 4's in hand.

feel free to start a introduce yourself thread Smile

new members are always welcome Very Happy

as for the rules, new members will go by what they have seen the current members post & that's why rules have been posted.

as for 'the MODS come in on Lambretta's with 2 by 4's in hand' Razz

i will come in driving a tank & holding a XM214 Microgun in one hand & a M-310 R in the other

He got upset with something that was posted, hopefully he'll return soon when he feels the time is right.

I'm not going to say any more than that, because the issue has nothing to do with me. I just spent Le Mans weekend with him at Cadpig Towers so got to hear about it, but none of my business.

I've left a message just now on his mobile inviting him back, I'm sure it is all a "storm in a teacup" and things can be worked out.

But ultimately it's his choice and his alone...

this has just given me an idea.... we could have a section for members mobile numbers ect but that would HAVE to be hidden without doubt !!! only for members eyes only. then those who wish to add their number could do so Smile

the admin know about this & the reason why, it will not be discussed here & it's no members fault either.

Technically, Cadpig's account still functions. He is more than welcome to return. Cadpig did have long periods of not logging in before Christmas, so therefore personal issues may also be a contributing factor - but I'm not entirely sure on that one.

Is anybody else finding it takes a little longer to load up this website lately? When I click it on the top search bar it used to come up pretty instant but now it takes a bit longer.

Plus if I've been looking at a topic and then press back to go to main page etc it takes a lot longer as well.
