Visually the R15 is interesting. I like the fact that it has a more aerodynamic F1-style nose, and look at the small aerodynamic pieces Ė like the F1 cars in 2008. I cannot say I support Audi much as a manufacturer, but the R15 is a good looking car.
Cool

At the end of the day, you know Audi are gonna have the car bang on the pace when it makes it's debut at Sebring, and that is all that matters to the team and the drivers. The team have lots of experience in preparing a winning car out of the box, and that should stand them in good stead ahead of the launch of the R15.

Don't think the sponsors would be too happy with that though, even though it would probably scare all the other drivers on the track.

As opposed to having the air go over the nose in all directions it goes through it in this case pushing and channeling the air forcing the car to the pavement. More than likely adds to stability under braking especially. Just a hypothesis however

another possible advantage to this is the visibility for the driver is improved esp in the wet. That air shooting up through those ridges creates a windshield of air one would assume right in front of the drivers faceshield....I somehow doubt that was the sole purpose for this design however haha

I like the R15 from a visual perspective, it stands out from the other prototypes because it has many small quirks like the Renault R29-style nose, small aero tabs and the rear brake lights are mounted on the rear wing. As for the ridges in the nose some of you are referring too, this is probably Audiís way of increasing aerodynamic efficiency. It looks like Audi have paid close attention to aerodynamics, with an odd nose, ridges, winglets and even small endplates like a single seater.

Its just a shame it hasnít got a big, bad, evil sounding petrol V12. The picture is rather big Scirocco, however on this occasion I donít mind as the R15 is a new car. Nice find.

I agree. It is a shame there isnt a petrol powerplant in it. An evil looking car should have an evil sound....not a swooooosshhhh Mad

I was a bit nervous at first to post it as the picture is as you said large but I thought since this was a post about the car it would be fitting to have a larger detailed photo of the car to spark this sort of discussion. In the future I will alert you of such finds before posting if you prefer

You would expect some continuity from Audi as they have a successful image and brand and are gonna want to continue that into the future.
