I am sure it will be a stunningly fast car, and advanced in everyway. But the fact that it is a diesel spoils it for me. I know that I sound like a broken record, but there is nothing quite like the sound of a petrol racing car.

The R10 sounds of nothing, completely silent. And what a shame in my opinion. Come on Porsche, make a giant-slaying petrol V12-powered car and will piss all over TDI. Very Happy

I thought the R15 was meant to be a closed prototype?

Yeah, me too. I thought those were the regulations for 2010...

It leads me to think that the R15 is not a completely new car, just a major upgrade...

there are a lot of people who believe that rule is still in place, but it's long gone. it was gone as much as two years ago.

I think if the new car is properly fast, then it may be unbeatable against Peugeot. Audi won Le Mans this year by being sensible, conbine that with a faster car than their rivals and the effect could be astonishing..

Very Happy We definately need someone to make a petrol car to hammer the diesel's, having diesel powered cars winning just isnt right!

well hpd are but only in the states, but there is a problem with that because it's a hybrid by all accounts.

however thetre is a ray of hope and it comes from Zytek there car was very close to audi's and peugeots at petit le mans and it's the only car that will be the same next year. The diesels get at 10.5% reduction in the air intake and production engined cars get smaller restrictors too, as do the turbo's. That spec of zytek won't sunny
all that said it'll be an audi r15 or a peugeot 908 HY that wins at le mans

If you look at time time taken to change drivers ! an open cockpit is much quicker ! so less time during pitstops

I could not have put it better myself. Very Happy

Having diesel dominate is ultra depressing. That Zytek that cerca mentions is interesting. But if I were to pick a Le Mans winner, I would want Peugeot win. Having Audi dominate is starting to get a tad predictable. All credit to Audi though, because they really do a stellar job.

Come on Porsche, build an LMP1 car with a petrol V12!

On a separate note, Audi not competing in LMS next year is a shame. I suppose there is little point, they won it this year and there is little benefit, it only costs more and in ALMS their will be more competition.

Well I must say, I will not be shedding any tears if that rumour is true. It is about time we had Porsche back in LMP1 with a petrol car. It is only a hybrid to sound good, I doubt the MPG will improve much. It should be damn loud.

Very Happy
