The latest rumour that I have seen is that Anthony Davidson is being considered for a seat at Audi in 2010. He has admitted he would be interested after spending 18 months without a competitive drive. Would be great to see, and no doubt he would be competitive from the off providing he had decent machinery, which I would have thought was a condition of any potential move. Also, Mercedes are apparently considering David Coulthard for a seat in 2010, which could be interesting imo.

Can't see that Audi have a top seat open, so year old car if Ant does join the series, Eki, Jarvis, Scheider and Tomczyk are all set for '10 cars i'd have said.

Yeah ABT have their 4 seats filled already. I'd love to see Ant in the series, see what his panel bashing skills are like

Panel bashing gets you in trouble in DTM, needs to go to BTCC to do it properly!

As somebody who is not that au fait with DTM, why is it that the "2010 car" is automatically assumed to be better than the "2009 car"?? Surely they could "have a bad year" and all the folks in 2009 cars could storm it? Or am I missing something? Sean _________________ Looking forward to the F1 2010 Season - bring it on!! :-)

| With development completely frozen since the middle of last year, in theory at least, teams like Mucke Motorsport and Phoenix racing should be able to compete for the titles. Because, the 2010 cars will be the same as the 09 machines. In the past, the only differences between the newer cars and the older cars, would be that the newer car had a slightly lower centre of gravity and more refined engine at lower revs (to help traction in slower speed corners). Also, the factory teams are more established and have more experience in setting up the cars. This year, we should see a lot more year old cars fighting for wins - depending on the driver. I mean look at Di Resta, he fought for podiums in a two year old C-Class. I would love to see Davidson in DTM, he is a very rounded driver. He can drive F1 cars fairly quickly, GT cars and prototypes. Mind you, I would expect to see him in a year old Audi - because he is an unknown quantity in DTM. I read the Autosport article with some confusion, because I thought that all the Abt seats have been taken up. But it appears, apart from Jarvis, nobody else is confirmed or has a contract for 2010: | Quote: | | The only driver to have been officially confirmed so far is Oliver Jarvis. The Briton will be taking over Tom Kristensen’s place and will be driving a current Audi A4 DTM this year. So, numerous cockpits are still up for grabs |

I reckon Martin Tomczyk should get the boot, an average driver who has not done much. But if he were to get the boot, then that would leave one seats at Abt free. You would assume that Timo Scheider and Ekstrom are returning, Jarvis has been confirmed at Abt and Davidson could be driver number 4. But would Audi let him have a factory seat, with little DTM experience? Rockenfeller, Luhr perhaps?
Then, the factory Mercedes squad is totally open. Will Ralf still drive for HWA? I really hope not, Di Resta will probably return - with no F1 race seats. Coulthard could step into a HWA car, him and Norbert are very good friends - and Norbert could make it happen. Jamie Green is still hoping for a HWA car, he said at the Autosport show last weekend. Many seats up for grabs! |

Yep the seats appear to be well up into the air atm, and this is the latest that I can remember that more hasn't been known. Just a point on the 2010 car being better than the 2009 car, don't forget that they agreed to freeze development of the cars after one of the races last season, so therefore the 2010 car should be exactly the same as the 09 car if the freeze is doing it's job correctly.

DTM calendar released: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/81097I love the addition of the Shanghai street race, its about time DTM ventured out of Europe too. A title decider on a street circuit could be interesting. The only race that concerns me is Valencia on 23rd May. Previously, the Spanish race used to be held in September. The Valencia round is awfully close to the F1 race in Barcelona (early May) and the F1 street race in Valencia (June), if crowds have to chose between watching Alonso in a Ferrari or attending DTM - I think I know which four wheeled events they would rather save for... Running the event in Autumn would at least leave a long time gap. Just a thought. Apart from that, I like it.

Looks like my sources for the initial post in this thread were correct. I like the way that the organisers say that the test doesn't mean that he might be driving in 2010. What a load of rubbish, who is seriously going to believe that!

Yep interesting, see that Katherine has joined Team Rosberg, although still in a 2008 car. Also news that DC wants another test too, so obviously he is considering the switch then.
